a jogar "online" e "online" a dinheiro. Adicionalmente, explorou-se em que medida a satisfação
com o suporte social moderou essas relações. Para o efeito, foi conduzido um estudo
quantitativo, no qual participaram 403 jovens adultos (18-25 anos).

The pandemic caused by COVID-19 has led to unprecedented changes in the daily lives
of individuals, all over the world, with a set of psychosocial impacts that must be considered.
The present study’s aim is to understand, in an exploratory way, how the confinement
established in Portugal between March and May this year was perceived within a sample of
young adults, namely in the different domains of their lives and feelings experienced during
this period. An attempt was also made to ascertain the impact of the perceived stress on the
frequency of some risk behaviours, specifically, on the consumption of alcohol, tobacco, illicit
drugs and time spent at online gaming and gambling. Additionally, the extent to which
satisfaction with social support moderated these relationships was explored. For this purpose,
a quantitative study was conducted, in which 403 young adults (18-25 years old) participated.
Overall, the results indicate that the participants perceived the situation of confinement as
having greatly or totally affected the social and personal domains of their lives. A high level of
satisfaction with social support is related to an increase in alcohol consumption in response to
higher levels of stress. Participants also reported an increase in time spent at online gaming and
several have initiated or retaken the different risk behaviours. The results will be discussed
considering the existing literature and limitations and suggestions for future studies will also be
presented.
