A presente dissertação pretende comprovar que face à estrutura de financiamento
existente nas PME’s Líder em Portugal, a oferta das Sociedades de Capital de Risco é
adequada, podendo ser relevante para o desenvolvimento das empresas. Assim, foi elaborado
um estudo, tendo por base a listagem das PME’s Líder existentes em Portugal à data de
Outubro de 2010, tendo sido extraída uma amostra de 100 empresas do Concelho de Loures, e
analisados uma série de indicadores que irão permitir chegar à conclusão acima mencionada.
Ressalva-se o facto das limitações inerentes à amostra limitarem as conclusões desta
dissertação, já que, podem não representar o universo das PME’s Líder em Portugal.

The purpose of this paper is to demonstrate that, given the existing funding structure
of the SME’s leader in Portugal, the products of Corporate Venture Capital are adequate,
and should be relevant to the growth of these firms. Therefore, I studied a list of SME’s
Leader in Portugal reporting October 2010. This list is a sample of 100 companies from the
City of Loures, that were analyzed based on certain indicators that will allow me to conclude
what I have mentioned priorly. I am indead relying my study on a sample. Hence, it may not
replicate, as accurately as I would wish the entire universe of SME’s Leaders in Portugal.
