A frente ribeirinha de Lisboa sempre foi uma zona importante
em ternos económicos para a cidade de Lisboa, especialmente
porque as rotas marítimas foram cruciais para
o desenvolvimento da economia. Ainda nos dias de hoje
consegue-se compreender esta importância e a necessidade
de manter infraestruturas navais e portuárias, sujeitou
com que os residentes de Lisboa tivessem o acesso ao Tejo
progressivamente cortado ao longo dos anos. As várias
obras, aterros e a implantação dessas mesmas infraestruturas
também contribuíram para o afastamento da cidade
ao Tejo.
Este ensaio visa procurar e refletir soluções urbanísticas
para encontrar uma solução para esta segregação entre a
cidade e o rio. A descontinuidade entre a malha conciliada
da cidade e a malha portuária do aterro da Boavista, a falta
de atividades e razões de estadia nesta zona são pontos importantes
a ter em consideração assim como a subida das
águas do mar para um cenário do século XXII.
O projeto propõe um conjunto de soluções urbanísticas
para abrir a zona de intervenção à cidade e convidar os
lisboetas à beira rio com uma reestruturação da avenida
Brasília, a criação três novos edifícios e de pontes pedonais
para ligar as duas malhas urbanas, a reabilitação dos
armazéns notáveis da zona para uma escola de artes performativas,
uma residência, espaços de start-ups e oficinas
criativas, adicionando zonas verdes com sombra e a instalação
de uma piscina.

The Lisbon waterfront has always been an important economic
area for Lisbon, especially as the sea routes were crucial
for the development of the economy. Even nowadays
one can understand this importance, and the need to maintain
naval and port infrastructures has meant that Lisbon residents
gradually had their access to the river Tagus cut off
over the years. The several constructions, landfills and the
implantation of those same infrastructures also contributed
to the city's distance from the Tagus river.
This essay aims to search and reflect urbanistic approaches
to find a solution to this segregation between the city and the
river. The discontinuity between the city's conciliated structure
and the harbour structure of the Boavista landfill, the
lack of activities and reasons to stay in this area are important
points to take into consideration as well as the rising
waters of the sea for a 22nd century scenario.
The project proposes a set of urbanistic solutions to open
the intervention area to the city and invite the people of
Lisbon to the riverfront with a restructuring of the Brasília
avenue, the creation of three new buildings and pedestrian
bridges to connect the two urban meshes, the rehabilitation
of the notable warehouses of the area for a performing
arts school, a residence, spaces for start-ups and creative
workshops, adding shaded green areas and the installation
of a swimming pool.
