A confiança nas instituições portuguesas como a literatura o tem demonstrado tem
vindo a decrescer ao longo dos anos, sendo que as instituições em quem os portugueses
menos confiam são as instituições políticas (partidos políticos, governo e Assembleia da
República) e as instituições em quem mais confiam são as instituições internacionais (Nações
Unidas e Parlamento Europeu). Porém, a Assembleia da República sendo uma instituição
política mantém um crédito de confiança superior aos partidos políticos e ao governo.
Pretendemos com este estudo investigar os padrões de confiança nas instituições
portuguesas, bem como os seus factores explicativos, nomeadamente tendo em conta a
natureza das instituições, a satisfação com o seu desempenho, a confiança interpessoal, a
exposição aos média e o interesse pela política.
Concluímos que quanto mais os portugueses estiverem satisfeitos com o desempenho
das instituições, mais confiarem uns nos outros, maior exposição aos media e mais interesse
pela política mais confiam nas instituições.

Trust in Portuguese institutions such as the literature has shown has been decreasing
over the years, being that institutions in whom thePortuguese less trust are political
institutions (political parties, Government and Assembly of the Republic) and institutions rely
on who else are international institutions (United Nations and the European Parliament).
However, the Assembly of the Republic being a political institution maintains a credit of trust
superior to political parties and the Government.
We want with this study investigating the patterns of confidence in Portuguese
institutions and their explanatory factors, in particular taking into account the nature of the
institutions, satisfaction with his performance, interpersonal trust, exposure to average and the
interest in politics.
We found that the more the Portuguese are satisfiedwith the performance of
institutions, most trust each other, greater exposure to media and more interest have more
trust policy within the institutions.
