The Master's degree in Management of Digital Transformation in the Health Sector (Managing the Digital Transformation in the Health Sector - ManagiDiTH) arises within the scope of a project financed by the European Union, with the aim of training professionals, both in technological areas as in the health area with the necessary skills to develop digital services in the healthcare sector.
The Master's degree is led by Iscte, involving two other universities: the Laurea University of Applied Sciences (Finland) and the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki (Greece). Being an international master's degree, teaching is in English, following the most recent pedagogical guidelines related to Distance Learning.
The Master's degree develops skills in three main components: societal, digital and health. Within the scope of the digital components, students choose between two areas of specialization: Data Science or Interoperability, according to their interest and training profile. The study plan comprises a total of 90 ECTS corresponding to three semesters of training.
The programme is suitable for professionals (current or future) with a range of academic backgrounds, including healthcare, social work, ICT and organization management. The programme is aimed at candidates who have completed a degree and is open to students from all European Union countries.
The Master's structure was developed taking into account the high quality standards of Distance Learning, providing students with greater flexibility in the teaching-learning process, being able to manage their study time and reconcile the course with their professional and personal activities.

We live in a time of extraordinary acceleration in technological development. What seemed a distant idea a short time ago is today the unavoidable reality of a large part of humanity: artificial intelligence, virtual reality, automation, cibersecurity, are just a few examples of concepts and new areas of knowledge that are present in our lexicon today and are part of our life. The health sector emerges as one of the maximum exponents of the application of technologies. The management of health services, the provision of health care, the monitoring of people with illnesses, the management of users' journey through health systems, disease diagnosis and therapeutic techniques, biotechnological research, all of these areas have been the subject of enormous development, through technological tools. Recent developments such as telemedicine, digital health, technological support for medical decisions, the promotion of people's adherence to therapy through technology, are happy examples of how technology in the health sector has contributed to improving people's health.
The Master's degree in Digital Transformation Management in the Health Sector, due to its multidisciplinary nature, with a study plan that brings together disciplines from the health area, disciplines from more social areas and also disciplines with a strong digital component, guarantees the innovation necessary to train professionals capable of dealing with the challenges of the digital transition in the healthcare sector. This Master's degree has a teaching staff highly specialized in the various components of the study plan, with very different backgrounds, both academic and professional, which constitutes a huge added value, given the multidisciplinary skills that are intended to be instilled in future students.
