The ‘Latin America Today’ Specialisation Seminar is an intensive, multidisciplinary course that looks at the socio-economic, political and cultural dynamics of Latin America.
With the general aim of understanding the current reality of the region in its many dimensions, particularly in its relationship with the transatlantic space, the programme consists of seminars concentrating on these disciplines, as well as lectures by experts or protagonists.
With professors, researchers, businesspeople, institutional authorities and diplomats specialising in Latin America, the students will have contact with the dynamism of the region in its different social, economic and cultural aspects.
As well as gaining experience, participants will have to consider writing an essay on a topic of interest to them as a method of end-of-course assessment.
In this new edition, the 14th Specialisation Seminar ‘Latin America Today’ will take place from 8 to 12 September 2025 at Iscte, jointly organised by the Iscte Centre for International Studies (CEI-Iscte) and Casa da América Latina (CAL).
The course takes place in person.
The course will be 20 hours in total (6 ECTS).
