ISCTE-Instituto Universitário  de Lisboa is member of this new entity, in partnership with Universidade de Aveiro, Universidade da Beira Interior, Universidade de Évora, Universidade da Madeira, Universidade do Porto, Universidade de Trás-os-Montes e Alto Douro, Universidade Nova de Lisboa and Universidade Católica Portuguesa. The protocol that creates the Doctoral Schools Network (RnED - Rede nacional de Escolas Doutorais, in Portuguese) was recently signed, on February 23th.

This network aims to promote quality improvement of PhD programs, through a joint definition of working and teaching standards, as well as networks and partnership/association PhD programs.

Higher Education Institutions members of RnED want to strenghten their participation in science and education public policies definition.

ISCTE-IUL was represented in the ceremony by vice-Rector Professor Carlos Sá da Costa.
