Since the start of COVID 19, Iscte has been overwhelmed with expressions of solidarity and offerings of protection material by Chinese students attending Iscte’s doctoral programs in partnership with Chinese universities in Chengdu (University of Electronic Science and Technology of China) and Guangzhou (Southern Medical University).

Students from all intakes wanted to impart a special meaning to their gifts, like the 2018 intake who offered precisely 2018 masks. It is not easy to have this material sent from China to Portugal, but the students’ determination overcame all difficulties showing that, more than a university, Iscte is a community.
