The 1st edition of the Iscte Technology and Architecture Summer School has been organized in partnership with UESTC - University of Electronic Science and Technology of China.
Thirty students and two staff members from UESTC participated in the Iscte Technology and Architecture Summer School organized between the 15th of July and 2nd of August 2024.
The students were welcomed by Maria das Dores Guerreiro, Vice-Rector for Internationalization, and Jorge Costa, Vice-Rector for Research and Technological Modernization.
Aiming to strengthen the cooperation between Iscte and UESTC and to reinforce students exchange, the students from the Chinese university were accompanied by ten Iscte students during the activities.
For three weeks, students from both students participated in the course 'Introduction to Entrepreneurship in a Technology-Based Project' and had an excellent opportunity to share knowledge, develop intercultural competences, as well as learn more about the Portuguese history and culture. The students visited various places of cultural interest in Lisbon such as: the Navy Museum, the Tile Museum, the Water Museum and the Águas Livres Aqueduct, the Pena Palace in Sintra, the Lisbon Oceanarium, the Benfica Museum, among others.
On the other hand, in July 2024, six students and one lecturer from the School of Technology and Architecture participated in the Summer School organized by UESTC – Future AIoT.
The 2nd edition of the Iscte Technology and Architecture Summer School is planned to be organized in the academic year 2024/2025.
