Este trabalho consiste numa investigação no âmbito do Serviço Social sobre a intervenção social e a promoção dos Direitos Humanos das vítimas de violência conjugal. Aborda a violência conjugal enquanto problema social de visibilidade crescente detendo graves repercussões nas suas vítimas, que na presente investigação inclui mulheres e crianças. A necessidade de apoio e respostas sociais com que as vítimas se confrontam vem realçar como objecto de estudo a intervenção social neste contexto familiar. Sendo esta investigação um estudo de caso tal reporta para a intervenção social da APAV. Como procedimentos metodológicos, a pesquisa contou com a observação estruturada, a análise documental, e a aplicação de entrevistas de carácter aprofundado. Na segunda, foi necessário recorrer ao método quantitativo de forma a demonstrar as tendências actuais da intervenção social. A aplicação da análise de conteúdo categorial permitiu estabelecer uma articulação entre os elementos teóricos constantes no quadro teórico e dados empíricos, e consecutivamente a chegada ao conhecimento sobre a intervenção social. Pelo que foi possível a elaboração sistematizada dos procedimentos do assistente social, destacando os princípios que estão na base da sua prática profissional e realçando a presença assídua da promoção dos direitos humanos das vítimas. Concluiu-se que a intervenção tem como base a avaliação do risco, através da qual é possível delinear todo o processo interventivo. A articulação com outras entidades, ou seja a intervenção em rede, é crucial tal como a vontade da vítima excepto aquando da existência de risco sobre as crianças, cuja sinalização é imediata.

This work consists of research into the Social Work about social intervention and promotion of human rights of the victims of conjugal violence. It discusses conjugal violence as a social problem of increasing visibility having serious repercussions on the victims, which in this research includes women and children. The need for support and social responses that the victims feel leads the subject of study: the social intervention in the context of family violence. This research is a case study and it is about APAV social intervention. As methodological procedures, the survey contains structured observation, document analysis, and depth character interviews. In the document analysis, it was necessary to use the quantitative method to demonstrate current trends of social intervention. The application of categorical content analysis allowed us to establish a link between the theoretical elements contained in the theoretical framework and the empirical data, and consecutively gain an understanding of social intervention. It was possible the systematic elaboration of procedures of social worker, highlighting the principles that underlie the professional practice and the assiduous presence of the promotion of victim's human rights. It was concluded that the intervention is based on risk assessment, through which one can sketch out the whole intervention process. The collaboration with other entities in the network intervention is as crucial as the will of the victim except when there is risk on children, whose signaling is immediately.
