Ana Costa is a professor at ISCTE – Lisbon University Institute (Political Economy Department of the School of Social Sciences) and researcher at DINAMIA’CET (Research Centre for Socioeconomic Change and the Territory). She graduated in Economics and concluded a Master in Development and International Cooperation at ISEG and a PhD in Economics at ISCTE. She is subdirector of DINÂMIA’CET. She is also member of the Observatory about Crisis and Alternatives (Centre for Social Studies - University of Coimbra), in collaboration with the International Labour Organisation (ILO). Research Interests: Political economy of austerity; Theoretical and epistemological foundations of the crisis of 2007-2008 and of the public policies to deal with the crisis; Values, (in)commensurability of value and valuation; Individual and collective decision making in context of moral difficulty; Institutional economics.
Cristina Sousa is Associate Professor at ISCTE/IUL. She has a Master's degree in Economics and Management of Science and Technology and a PhD in Economics, both from ISEG/UTL. Her research interests include innovation, creation and circulation of knowledge and entrepreneurship. Currently, her research is focused on networks, on entrepreneurship in knowledge-intensive sectors and on the transition to a sustainable energy system. The results of her research were object of publication in academic journal and books and were presented in several national and international conferences and workshops.
She holds a PhD in Economics from Iscte-IUL and the University of Bourgogne (France), a Master's degree in Economics and Human Resources Management and a degree in Sociology (ISCTE-IUL). She is full professor at the Department of Political Economy of ISCTE-IUL, and an integrated researcher at the Centre for Studies on Socioeconomic Change and Territory (DINÂMIA'CET). She is director of the Master's Degree in Human Resources Development Policies and deputy director of DINÂMIA'CET. She was coordinator of the FCT project, 'Flexible pay for flexible contracts? The dynamics of the relationship between wage policy and employment contracts at the firm level' between 2009-2013 (PTDC/EGE-ECO/108547/2008) and the FCT project 'Bringing Higher Education, Training and Quality of Employment Closer', between 2018-2022 (PTDC/SOC-SOC/30016/2017). She is the coordinator of the Youth Employment Observatory (DINAMIA-Iscte-IUL). Her main study and research interests include skills demand, compensation policies and labour market segmentation.

Luís Mah is an assistant professor in Development Studies at the Department of Political Economy at ISCTE-University Institute of Lisbon. Between 2015-2022, he lectured at the Master in International Development and Cooperation and the PhD in Development Studies at ISEG-Lisbon School of Economics and Management/University of Lisbon. He has been working for almost 19 years with civil society actors and formerly led the United Nations Millennium Campaign (UNMC) in Portugal. He is particularly interested on the global implications of the (re)emergence of Asia and the international development cooperation of the European Union. He holds a PhD in Development Studies from LSE-London School of Economics and Political Science (London,2004), a MA in Political Science from Yonsei University (Seoul, 1996) and a Licenciate in Social Communication by Nova University Lisbon.
Full Professor in the Department of Political Economy at Iscte-University Institute of Lisbon. Aggregation (2020) and PhD in Economics (Iscte, 2020, 2005), Master's in Economics and Social Policy (ISEG, 1997), Degree in Sociology (Iscte, 1991). Vice-Rector for Education and Accreditation (2022-present).  Director of Iscte's PhD programme on transitions to sustainability. Teaching since 1991 in undergraduate, master's and doctoral programmes in the scientific and disciplinary areas of the history of economic thought, the political economy of the territory and sustainability. Research carried out as part of international and national projects, with European and national funding. National and international publications in the field of political economy, including subjects such as territory, innovation and sustainability. She was Director of the School of Social Sciences and Humanities (2019-2022), Deputy Director of the School of Social Sciences (2016-2019), and Director of the Department of Political Economy (2016-2019). She was also Vice-Chair of the Pedagogical Council (2014-2017) and a member of this and other Iscte bodies since the beginning of her teaching career. 
Graduated in Law from the Faculty of Law of the University of Lisbon, whith a Master's degree in Business Law, in the area of ​​Labor Law, from ISCTE-Instituto Universitário de Lisboa, she has a PhD in Law from the Faculty of Law of the University of Corunha (Spain) and from NOVA School of Law (Lisbon-Portugal). In addition to complementary training courses, he has participated in numerous National and International Congresses and Seminars, often as a lecturer. He has been teaching at several university institutions, with special emphasis on ISCTE - IUL – Instituto Universitário de Lisboa, where he teaches several courses in the Master’s Degree in Business and Labor Law, as well as in the Master’s in Labor Sciences and Labor Relations and in the Master in Human Resources Development Policies. She was an invited Lecturer in postgraduate courses at the Lisbon and Porto Law Faculties. She has supervised numerous dissertations, in addition to participating, as Arguente, in several Masters juries. She is the author of several essays and articles published in books and national and international magazines on Employment Law topics.
Paulo Marques is Associate Professor in the Department of Political Economy, Iscte. He is researcher at DINÂMIA'CET-Iscte. He currently coordinates the Youth Employment Observatory and the SOLID-JOB research project (both financed by FCT). His PhD thesis was developed in the field of political economy and was entitled: "Young People and Labour Market Segmentation in Europe: An Institutionalist Perspective". He contributes to the field of Comparative Political Economy and studies topics such as labour market segmentation and labour market policies. His PhD thesis received two awards: António Simões Lopes Prize, awarded by the Portuguese Economics Association (Best PhD in 2016), and Manuel Lopes Prize, awarded by the Portuguese Employment Services (IEFP).  His master dissertation received two awards: Jacques Delors Prize, awarded by the European Information Centre Jacques Delors; and the Silva Leal Prize (honourable mention), awarded by the Portuguese State Secretariat for Social Security and ISCTE. An article he published together with Isabel Salavisa in the Socio-Economic Review received the António Dornelas Prize, awarded by the Portuguese Ministry of Labour. Paulo Marques has published scientific articles in journals such as the Socio-Economic Review, Comparative European Politics, and European Journal of Industrial Relations.
First as Lawyer and after as jurisconsult Pedro Quartin Graça has large experience on providing preemptive legal support in legal areas as advertising law, corporate law and law of the sea. He is a consultant in Corporate and Company Law, Environmental Law and Law of the Sea as well as in Advertising, Consumer and Intellectual Property Law. Assistant Professor at ISCTE - IUL (Portugal) and former President of the 1st Section of the Jury of Ethics of the Advertising Selfregulation (former ICAP - Portugal). Pedro Quartin Graça has a large number of books and academic publications in Portuguese, German and Chinese concerning advertising law, law of the sea, european law and consumer law. Pedro Quartin Graça has a wide international experience, namely concerning the relations with Africa, Asia and Central America countries. He teached law at the Chinese Academy of Governance (former China National School of Administration - CNSA), China - Europe Public Administration Project, People's Republic of China, at the Global Distance Learning Network of World Bank for East Timor and at the ProPALOP-TL ISC PNUD postgraduation in Angola. From 2005 until 2009 he served as a Member of the Parliament of Portugal (10th parliamentary term). He was also a member of the Committee on Constitutional Affairs, Rights, Freedoms and Guarantee; of the Committee on Social Security and Labour; of the Sub-Committee on Internal Security; of the Sub-Committee on Media and Fundamental Rights and of the Sub-Committee on Equal Opportunities. Member of the Portuguese national delegation into the 97th Session of the International Labour Conference - International Labour Organization, Genève, Switzerland. Ricardo Barradas is Assistant Professor in the Department of Political Economy from School of Social Sciences at Iscte - Instituto Universitário de Lisboa and Integrated Researcher at Centre for the Study of Socioeconomic Change and the Territory (Dinâmia'CET) in Iscte - Instituto Universitário de Lisboa. His main research interests are in the fields of political economy, post-keynesian economics, financialisation and other related areas. He is author of several scientific articles that are published in reputable international journals, such as Economic and Industrial Democracy, Economic and Labour Relations Review, International Review of Applied Economics, Journal of Economic Issues, Journal of Post Keynesian Economics, Review of Keynesian Economics, Review of Political Economy, Review of Radical Political Economics, among others.
Ricardo Paes Mamede holds a PhD in Economics from Bocconi University (Italy), a Master's Degree in Economics and Management of Science and Technology from the Higher Institute of Economics and Management of the Technical University of Lisbon (ISEG/UTL), and a degree in Economics from the same institution. Associate Professor at the Political Economy Department of ISCTE - Instituto Universitário de Lisboa, where he has been teaching since 1999 in the areas of International Political Economy, Industrial and Innovation Policy, and Policy Evaluation. He is President of the Board of Ipps-Iscte (Institute for Public and Social Policies) since 2018 and President of the Installing Committee of the School of Applied Digital Technologies (Iscte-Sintra) since 2022. Between 2008 and the beginning of 2014 he was Coordinator of the Research and Evaluation Centre of the NSRF Observatory. He was Director of Economic Analysis and Forecasting Services of the Office of Strategy and Studies of the Ministry of Economy and Innovation in 2007 and 2008. Member of Dinâmia'CET (Centre for Studies on Socio-economic Change and the Territory). Research interests: structural change and economic development, sectoral dynamics and innovation, and public policies. Born in Coimbra in 1974.

João de Sousa Assis holds a PhD in Law from the University of Glasgow, Scotland, where he also tutored Business Organisations. He graduated in Law and holds a masters in Commercial Law, both from the New University of Lisbon, Portugal. Before joining the Iberian law firm Uría Menéndez, where he worked for two years as a trainee lawyer within the departments of M&A, TMT, banking and labour.  João regularly cooperates with international institutions such as the University of Thammasat (Thailand) or Symbiosis Law School Pune (India), holding the position of Integrated Researcher at IJP – Instituto Jurídico Portugalense research centre (Lisbon), and Research Fellow at the Centre for ASEAN Transnational Studies (CATS) of the University of Chiang Mai Faculty of Law (Thailand).
Luís Clemente-Casinhas holds a BSc degree in Management from Nova School of Business and Economics. He completed his MSc in Economics and his PhD in the same field (with a scholarship from FCT) at ISCTE-IUL. In 2019, he began his role as Invited Teaching Assistant at ISCTE-IUL, in the Macroeconomics courses of the Economics Department. He is an Invited Assistant Professor not only at ISCTE-IUL but also at Universidade Autónoma de Lisboa, presenting teaching experience at ISEG Lisbon School of Economics and Management as well. He is certified as a Specialist in Microsoft Office Excel (2013), having received the Nova Excellence Award in 2014 and the IBS TOP Master distinction in 2018. He conducts research in the areas of Central Banking and inequality, being part of a project led by the London School of Economics.
Mário Silveiro de Barros completed his PHD in Law, with a Doctoral thesis in Social Security Procedural Law at the Law Faculty of the University of La Coruña, Spain. Develops his academic and research work in ​​Social Security Law. In addition to 1 published book, he published 10 articles in scientific peer-reviewed journals and 10 individual chapters in collective books. He presented several on-site talks and communications at scientific events (conferences and seminars). He also has a professional activity as a lawyer in the area of ​​labour law, social security and commercial law. At ISCTE he is an Invited Professor, lecture in the courses of Social Security Law, Labor Procedural Law, Employment Law, Social Law and Corporate Law.
I am currently a researcher at Iscte-University Institute of Lisbon, where I also am an Invited Assistant Professor at the Department of Political Economy and the School of Applied Digital Technologies. I hold a PhD in Sociology (2019) from the University of Cambridge. Having won the prize for best dissertation from the Portuguese Political Science Association (2022), it was published as a book entitled Contesting Austerity Social Movements and the Left in Portugal and Spain (2008-2015) with Amsterdam University Press (which won the 1st edition of the João Ferreira de Almeida Prize). I was a researcher at Scuola Normale Superiore, Florence, where I remain affiliated with the Center on Social Movement Studies. I held visiting positions at Carlos III University (Madrid)(2015/2016, 2023), Scuola Normale Superiore (2016), the University of York (2022), and the University of Florence (2024). In 2023, I was the FLAD Visiting Professor at Brown University, where I taught Social Movement and Contentious Politics in Southern Europe. Additionally, I serve as co-chair of the Social Movement Research Network of the Council for European Studies since 2022. Alongside Guya Accornero, I co-coordinate the Monthly Seminar on Social Movements and Political Action. My current research explores two themes. Firstly, I delve into collective action and class inequalities in Southern Europe, with a specific focus on Portugal. Secondly, I am engaged in studying Extinction Rebellion, concentrating on the transnational diffusion of contemporary Environmental Movements. My research has been published in Housing Studies, Review of African Political Studies, Social Movement Studies, Environmental Sociology, Religion, State & Society, Portuguese Journal of Social Sciences, New Media & Society, Childhood, and Análise Social, among others.
