Programmes can offer all vacancies in the first phase or distribute them by phase. Vacancies not taken up in a phase are carried over to the next phase. The opening of the next application phase is subject to the existence of vacancies.

Requirements

a) Holders of a master's degree or legal equivalent 

b) Holders of a bachelor's degree with an academicscientific or professional curriculum recognized as attesting to their ability to complete a doctorate 

c) Holders of an academicscientific or professional curriculum recognized as attesting to their ability to complete a doctorate 



Application procedures



Selection Criteria


1. Assessment of academic record (50%) 

  • Average of the final marks obtained in the bachelor's and master's degrees, converted into a scaleof 0 to 20 points. 
  • Scientific area of the bachelor's degree, one point being awarded if in the scientific areas of the PhD and zero points in other cases. 
  • Scientific area of the master's degree, one point being awarded if in the scientific areas of the PhD and zero points in other cases. 


2. Evaluation of the scientific curriculum (20%) 

  • Research activities and relevant scientific publications - 0 to 15 points.  
  • Other scientific activities - 0 to 5 points. 


3. Evaluation of the professional curriculum (10%) 

  • Activities relevant to the pursuit of the PhD: 0 to 15 points. 
  • Other activities: 0 to 5 points.  


4. Work plan assessment (20%) 

  • Substantiated relevance of the object of study (40%). 

          i. Clear definition of the objectives and research questions. 

          ii. Potential contribution of the research project to knowledge in the scientific area of the doctorate. 

  • Scientific quality of the state of the art and the proposed research methodology, taking into account its clarity, consistency and coherence (40%). 
  • Feasibility of the work plan (20%). 

          i) Suitability of the methodologies to the tasks and objectives set out in the work plan, based on the number of months indicated for their completion and the total time for the project. 


Candidates may be interviewed to clarify aspects of their CV (academic, scientific and professional) and work plan.

Documents to be submited with the Application 

The application is made exclusively online, through Fénix+. The following documents must be attached:


  • Photograph (passport size)
  • Identification document (citizen's card for national applicants and passport for foreign applicants)
  • Diploma for bachelor's and master's degrees with final grade point average
  • Academic transcript or official document showing the course units taken and their respective grades
  • Curriculum vitae
  • Work plan - template available HERE.

Candidates who do not submit the above documents will be passed over to the next stage. If they do not submit the missing documents by the end of the next phase, they will be excluded.
