The Computer Science and Business Management degree (IGE) aims to produce professionals with the capabilities to face the most current challenges in organisations, information systems and technology. In recent years, new computing platforms and paradigms have emerged, such as the growing number of mobile devices (smartphones and tablets), cloud computing and virtualization, that create new organisational challenges. On the other hand, the growth of social networks and the collection and analysis of massive volumes of data (Big Data) represent equally large challenges for modern organisations.

The students who graduate from this course will have the skills to grapple with these challenges, and the capacities to engage actively in development and consulting in the fields of Information and Communication Systems and Technologies, as well as integrate and coordinate multidisciplinary teams in the development of Information Systems solutions to organizational problems. Those who hold a degree in Computer Science and Business Management are equally prepared to complete tasks connected to information systems management, teaching and investigation, or even the creation of their own innovative products, services or companies. Thus, our graduates acquire a systematic vision of business which enables them to foster the integration and harmonization of knowledge from the areas of Management and Computer Science. They become professionals with the capacity to manage and mobilize computer science as a strategic resource and an instrument of increasing the competitiveness of organizations.
