Iscte Researchers’ Survey – 2024

As part of the InCITIES project, Iscte has signed up to the European Charter for Researchers and the Code of Conduct for the Recruitment of Researchers, formalizing its commitment to recognizing and valuing the importance of research activities in our institution.

In preparation for the application to obtain the certification associated with the principles expressed in the Charter & Code - Human Resources Excellence for Research (HRS4R) - various initiatives are underway considering the improvement of the recruitment processes and the working conditions of the researchers who carry out activities in Iscte's Research Units.

The Researcher Survey is one of the first initiatives and aims to diagnose the current situation at Iscte, considering the creating of a stimulating working environment that is favorable to the production, transfer and sharing of knowledge, as well as the professional development of researchers.

The Human Resources Excellence for Research certification is attributed to organizations that, following an internal analysis (Gap Analysis) of compliance with the 40 principles of the Charter & Code, define a set of actions (Action Plan) to improve their practices; a continuous and evolving process anchored in the Human Resources Strategy for Researchers (HRS4R). In this sense, the contributions gathered in this survey will be used to draw up the Action Plan.

The survey covers around 560 researchers, with different contractual frameworks, and the questionnaire is anonymous and can be answered until 31st May.
