The kick-off meeting for the Research Data Management Centre for the Social Sciences and Humanities (RDMC-SSH) project took place on 20 March.The meeting was attended by the Mission Group, composed of researchers and science managers from the eight research units of Iscte - Knowledge and Innovation.

A challenging year is expected for the management of research data in the Social Sciences and Humanities, with the creation of an infrastructure dedicated to the accessibility, storage and secure preservation of research data, and an extensive programme of training and online resources in line with national and European Open Science standards.

The Ministry of Education, Science and Innovation, through the Foundation for Science and Technology, is implementing the National Program for Open Science and Open Research Data (PNCA DAI). This National Programme for Open Science and Open Research Data has the following objectives: alignment with the principles of Open Science and FAIR Data, provision of tools, services and infrastructure, technical support, consultancy and training of the community in best practices, and convergence with the best practices of the European Open Science Cloud initiative. Call RI700139/2024 aimed at contracting research data management centers, distributed by regions and by thematic areas, including the Research Data Management Center for the Social Sciences and Humanities (RDMC-SSH) led by Iscte - Knowledge and Innovation.
