A presente dissertação foca o distúrbio identitário expresso nas trocas simbólicas no contexto ártico, especialmente na organização da cultura Sámi, no norte da Sápmi Norueguesa, relevando o papel das políticas de noruegização e a exploração de uma imagem patrimonial única, com especial destaque nos processos de interacção e integração que envolvem o indivíduo e o grupo, a constituição de alianças nas estratégias mercantis, a relação de poder com a introdução das novas tecnologias e consequentes desafios característicos no domínio do turismo. Nesta concepção, pretende-se abordar o debate da ecologia com o império económico global, interligando a identidade de um povo com as consequências devastadoras e irreversíveis a nível ambiental, social e cultural. Através do trabalho de campo e de conversas sustentadas e opiniões obtidas procedeu-se à avaliação do papel das fórmulas de inclusão de manifestações artísticas, tais como o traje tradicional Sámi e os festivais na temporalidade e espacialidade das mutações históricas, dos modelos de comportamento e dos moldes políticos, sociais, económicos e culturais.

This thesis focuses on the identity conflict of symbolic exchanges in the arctic context, with special focus on the Sámi cultural organization of the northern part of the Norwegian Sápmi, highlighting the role of politics of norwegisation and the exploitation of a unique patrimonial image, with special emphasis on the processes of interaction and integration that involves an individual and the group, alliances in market strategies, the relationship of power with the introduction of new technologies and consequent characteristic challenges in the field of tourism. In this conception, I address the debate of ecology with the global economic empire, interconnecting the identity of people with devastating and irreversible environmental, social and cultural consequences. In the follow up of dialogs and opinions obtained in the fieldwork, I evaluate the formulas of inclusion of artistic manifestations such as the traditional Sámi costume and the role of festivals in the concept of temporality and spatiality of historical mutations, as well as behavior models and political, social, economic and cultural molding.
