Library Exhibitions

Our Library Exhibitions began in in February of 2005.

Each of these Exhibitions is based on the identification of a representative sample of the textual collection that exists currently in the Library around a chosen theme.

Since January of 2006, the Library Exhibitions have relied on collaboration with outside entities whose areas of activity are related to the theme of each Exhibition. This collaboration is done through the donation of 25 publications, which are integrated into the Exhibition and later the Library collection.

The Exhibitions can also stem from current topics. The members of the academic community can also propose topics for discussion.

The exhibitions are located in installations within the Library.

Book of the Month

The Book of the Month is an initiative to promote and publicize the scientific output of the teaching and research community at ISCTE-IUL, as well as raise awareness around the Biographies and Bibliographies of the Authors and their interests and priorities.

Art in the Library

Art, Culture and Science are prevalent aspects in the work of the Library at Iscte. In this regard, the Library works to demonstrate itself as also a space of aesthetic delight through different artistic displays, as well as contribute to the popularization of the artists who present their works in its space.

Conversations at the Library

This initiative has as its objective to deepen conversations around the themes of the other cultural activities given in and by the Library, including the Exhibitions and the Book of the Month. These conversations can also stem from current topics. The members of the academic community can also propose topics for discussion.
