Iscte promotes the dissemination of knowledge through 7 peer reviewed journals, which are indexed in international databases.
All the journals are listed in CAPES and a large number are indexed in Scopus and Web of Science, which open doors to the publication and dissemination of scientific results in an international context. In addition, the publisher Mundos Sociais, affiliated with one of the Institute's research units (CIES-IUL) publishes high-quality work in the field of Social Sciences. Several research units publish collections of working papers.
Cadernos de Estudos Africanos is a scientific journal published by CEI-IUL. Focusing on sub-Saharan Africa, the journal welcomes contributions from the international scientific community working within the purview of the social sciences and specializing in African Studies. Since its first issue in July 2001, Cadernos de Estudos Africanos has been published on a regular, semi-annual basis.

Etnográfica covers a broad range of ethnographic contexts, stressing high-quality empirical research, varied analytical perspectives and theoretical innovation. Articles selected by the Editorial Committee are subjected to double-blind peer review by two experts in the field. Etnográfica reflects the diversity of theoretical perspectives, fields and places of production of contemporary anthropological knowledge, as well as the variety and richness of the social and geopolitical contexts it examines.
