Cadernos de Estudos Africanos is a scientific journal published by CEI-IUL. Focusing on sub-Saharan Africa, the journal welcomes contributions from the international scientific community working within the purview of the social sciences and specializing in African Studies. Since its first issue in July 2001, Cadernos de Estudos Africanos has been published on a regular, semi-annual basis.

CIDADES, Comunidades e Territórios is an academic journal in the scientific area of Urban Studies that was established in 2000 by a team of researchers from the former Centre for Territorial Studies. The journal consolidates a heritage of scientific research and academic work at Iscte of over twenty years, and is currently published semi-annually by Dinâmia'CET-IUL.

CIDADES, now in e-journal format, pursues the objective of disseminating research and discussions in the field of Urban Studies, working to establish itself in the national and international academic publishing communities as a publication of reference in its field.

Etnográfica is the only Portuguese journal dedicated exclusively to social and cultural anthropology. It is a dynamic and well-established project, having gained reputation as a quality scientific publication with wide international recognition.

Etnográfica covers a broad range of ethnographic contexts, stressing high-quality empirical research, varied analytical perspectives and theoretical innovation. Articles selected by the Editorial Committee are subjected to double-blind peer review by two experts in the field. Etnográfica reflects the diversity of theoretical perspectives, fields and places of production of contemporary anthropological knowledge, as well as the variety and richness of the social and geopolitical contexts it examines.

Ler História is a publication focused on promoting studies in History and Social Sciences, distinguished by its scientific references and international circulation.

The submitted articles, derived from research in these fields, are subject to rigorous evaluation. Ler História prides itself on its group of nationally and internationally renowned authors.

The Portuguese Journal of Social Science (PJSS), created in 2002, is a peer-reviewed cross-disciplinary jornal focused on research about Portuguese society. However, the journal takes a broad view and accepts articles that are not exclusively devoted to the Portuguese context. It particularly welcomes comparative studies.

While the journal concentrates on research articles, it operates a flexible policy in respect of other types of submission, including book reviews. 

Revista de Gestão dos Países de Língua Portuguesa (RGPLP), edited by INDEG/Iscte in collaboration with the Fundação Getúlio Vargas, Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, is a quarterly publication that provides a scientific approach and dissemination of different areas of Management, such as Strategy, Marketing, Human Resources, Tourism, Logistics, Finance, Accounting, Information Systems, among others. With contributions from renowned Portuguese and foreign authors, RPBG is comprised articles and case studies.

Sociologia, Problemas e Práticas is a scientific journal whose main purpose is to publish articles of sociological analysis resulting from original research, the development of theory, or thematic evaluation. It also reveals interdisciplinary openness to work from other areas of social sciences, as the journal is directed towards an international audience. The journal was established in 1986, and has been published continually since. It is indexed in various international bibliographic databases.

Mundos Sociais, founded in 2010, is a CIES-IUL publisher that promotes scientific publications of high quality in the areas of Sociology, Political Science, Anthropology, History, Education and other Social Sciences. Besides its general catalogue, Mundos Sociais also publishes the journal “Sociologia, Problemas e Prática”, the collection ”Questões de Partida” and the collection “Desigualdades,” coordinated by the Inequality Observatory.
