Associate Professor - with a Habilitation in Information Science and Technology - in the Department of Information Science and Technology (DCTI-ISTA). Degree in Information Systems and Computer Engineering (5 years course). MD and Ph.D. in Social Psychology. Researcher at Information Sciences, Technologies and Architecture Research Center (ISTAR-IUL). Involved in projects related to applied computing, gamification, technology acceptance, cybercultures, information society, information systems, technologies and education, adolescence, childhood, music, education and learning, suicide prevention, virtual communities, gaming, and social networks. Member of some scientific Associations, such as the Centre for Studies in Suicide and the Portuguese Society of Suicidology. In short, he focuses his work on data science and applied computing in the study of human behaviour in different contexts. He is also the author of many scientific papers, book chapters, and some books, namely, 'Jogos Sérios - A Arte de Gamificar' (Serious Games - The Art of Gamification), ‘O Desafio da Morte’ (The Challenge of Death), Illusions in the Age of Emotions’, or 'O Desafio da Vida' (The Challenge of Life). He has participated in several scientific events and other actions toward the community. He has also participated in radio programs, has always enjoyed playing sports, and advocates a sustainable world and a healthy life, being vegetarian.
Alessandro Pinheiro holds a degree in Business Administration (a 4-year course, pre-Bologna), a postgraduate degree in Marketing, a master's degree in Business Administration, and a Ph.D. in Information Science and Technology. He is an Adjunct Assistant Professor in the Department of Information Science and Technology (ISCTE-IUL) and an Assistant Professor in the undergraduate programs in Management Informatics, Game Development, and Computer Engineering (European University). An education enthusiast, he believes in the transformative power of knowledge and is passionately dedicated to promoting learning.
Alexandra Ferreira-Lopes is an Associate Professor at ISCTE, Instituto Universitário de Lisboa (ISCTE - IUL), at the ISCTE Business School (IBS) and she is affiliated with the Business Research Unit (BRU-IUL) of ISCTE - IUL. She earned her PhD in Economics from the Lisbon School of Economics and Management of the University of Lisbon (ISEG - UL, Lisbon, Portugal). She is the author of articles about Open Macroeconomics, Business Cycles, Endogenous Growth Theory, and Empirical Economics, published in international peer-reviewed journals such as Ecological Economics, Economic Modelling, Open Economies Review, Oxford Economic Papers, Public Finance Review, Regional Studies, and Tourism Management. She was the sub-director of BRU-IUL between February 2014 and August 2016 and the director of the Msc. in Economics between July 2019 and June 2021.
Álvaro Rosa is a professor of Management. His areas of research and study are Strategy, Governance and Cross-Cultural Management. In addition, he is also a researcher and teacher of Chinese Studies, namely Contemporary China. Currently, he is the Director of Master Degree in Chinese Studies, a joint program of University of Aveiro and ISCTE - IUL. Professionally, he is a coach and trainer in negotiation techniques.
Álvaro Dias, associate professor with habilitation at iSCTE-IUL, has been teaching since 1995, specializing in Tourism, Marketing and Entrepreneurship. Alongside his teaching, he has served as a consultant for various organizations, including the Ministry of Economy, IAPMEI, AIP, AEP, AERLIS, GNR, ACT, CCP, Turismo de Portugal, and numerous private companies.
He holds two PhDs, both awarded with honors (cum laude)—one in Management with a focus on Marketing and the other in Tourism. Additionally, he possesses a Master's in Strategy, an MBA, a Bachelor's in Management, and has completed postgraduate studies in E-business.
Álvaro has led the Economic and Business Sciences department at UAL, directed the Master's and Bachelor's programs in Marketing, and co-directed the Bachelor's in Management at ISG. He also coordinated the Tourism Destination Management Master program at Universidade Lusófona.
As an author, he has written 26 books and published over 240 Scopus indexed articles.
In recognition of his contributions, he received the GNR D. Nuno Álvares Pereira Medal of Merit and a diploma of Commendation in 2022. He was honored with the research award from the Chair of Intelligent Tourism of the Junta de Andalucía and the University of Seville in 2021, followed by the extraordinary research award from the University of Seville in 2023. His co-authored article, "Entrepreneurship's Role on Dynamic Capabilities: A Longitudinal Study on Brazilian and Portuguese Firms," was nominated for the Best Paper Prize at the Strategic Management Society's Special Conference in 2011.
Álvaro has supervised two post-doctoral fellowships, 16 PhD candidates, and 247 master's students. His international teaching and research experience includes countries such as Angola, Brazil, Bolivia, Mexico, Peru, Colombia, Spain, Poland, Romania, and Finland.
Ana Catarina Nunes is an Assistant Professor at ISCTE-IUL. She has a PhD in Mathematics Applied to Economics and Management, a MSc in Operations Research, and graduated in Statistics and Operations Research. She teaches quantitative methods, namely Operations Research and Optimization. She has presented communications in several conferences, and has published in scientific journals such as the European Journal of Operational Research. Her research topics are operations research (combinatorial optimization), mainly on mathematical models and heuristics for the designs of routes and sectors for real applications in delivery and collection systems. In this context, she has been a researcher in projects supported by national funding from FCT (Fundação para a Ciência e a Tecnologia) focused on the efficient resource management in environmental services related to household refuse collection.
Ana Conceição (publication name, Conceição, A.) is an Assistant Professor of Management Accounting and Control at ISCTE-IUL (Lisbon, Portugal). She holds a PhD from ISCTE-IUL. Prior to joining ISCTE-IUL she was Professor at Escola Naval where she taught Accounting, Auditing and Financial Management.
Ana Isabel Lopes, Ph.D., is a full time Assistant Professor of the Accounting Department at Lisbon University Institute (ISCTE-IUL) and integrated member of the researcher center BRU/UNIDE, in Lisbon (Portugal). She has experience in teaching in doctoral and master programs, executive education, and undergraduate programs, engaging in courses related with financial accounting and business reporting, management control in multinationals, and consolidated financial statements. Currently, she is Director of the MSc program in Accounting and she is the Executive Director of the post-graduation in Finance and Accounting Applied. She has an extensive experience in coordinating programs in high education institutions. She also supervises doctoral and master students' dissertations. She is active in presenting conference papers in national and international congresses (by submission or invitation). Her research interests cover international financial accounting and reporting, integrated and sustainability reporting, business combinations, and corporate governance. Ana Isabel has published in leading academic journals such as 'Australian Journal of Management', 'European Business Review', 'Accounting Education', 'Spanish Journal of Finance and Accounting', 'Journal of Economics and Business', and 'Meditari Accountancy Research'.
Ana Lúcia Martins is an Associate Professor at ISCTE-IUL and an integrated researcher at BRU-Iscte (Business Research Unt). She holds a PhD in Management, with a specialization in Operations Management and Technology, and an MSc in Management, with a specialization in Strategy. She currently serves as Iscte Business School Vice-dean for Teaching and Innovation. She also serves as director of the Master in Humanitarian Action, along with a director from the School of Sociology and Public Policy, a program jointly offered by both schools, and in the past served as director of the bachelor's degree in Industrial Management and Logistics. Ana teaches Operations Management, Logistics Management, Service Operations Management, and Supply Chain Management. Ana authored more than 85 scientific articles. Ana publishes in scientific journals such as the International Journal of Logistics Management, International Journal of Industrial Engineering and Management, and Public Money and Management, among others. She has authored book chapters in logistics management and lean management in the justice systems. Her current main research topics are operations management in humanitarian settings, logistics management, supply chain management, and lean management in the services area, mainly in judicial and healthcare systems. Ana is involved in several european projects, contributing in the areas of operations management and assurance of learning activities.
PhD in Human Resources Management at ISCTE-IUL, Instituto Universitário de Lisboa, Portugal. Her main research interests are well-being, daily micro-events at work, mindfulness, positive organizational behaviour and the intersection of pets with organizational life. She has published more than 40 papers in International Journals such as Personality and Individual Differences, Journal of Happiness Studies, Social Indicators Research, European Journal of Work and Organizational Psychology or International Journal of Migration, Health and Social Care. She has published diverse book chapters and presented studies at different International Conferences, such as: European Congress on Work and Organizational Psychology and; International Seminar on Positive Occupational Health Psychology, among others. Andreia Borges has a PhD in Management (specialized in Human Resources and Organizational Behavior) and is a social and organizational psychologist. She worked in the Human Resources department of Sonae Sierra and has experience as a researcher at Católica Lisbon School of Business and Economics and the Public Security Police (PSP). She is currently invited professor at ISCTE. Her research explores new ways of thinking about the social, ethical and environmental dimensions of business. She also explores other ideas of corporate ethics and political behavior that strengthen corporate action and political capital.
Filipa Rosado Pinto is an Adjunct Assistant Professor of the Department of Marketing, Operations and General Management at Iscte- Instituto Universitário de Lisboa. Presently, she is also an Adjunct Assistant Professor at NOVA SBE. Filipa obtained her PhD in Management (Marketing specialization) at Iscte, in 2022. She also holds an MBA from IE Business School and a bachelor’s degree in management from NOVA SBE. Following ten years of experience in marketing, in multinational companies, from Fast Moving Consumer Goods and the Pharmaceutical Industry, she moved into Academia in 2016.
Filipa´s current research interests include -among others- consumer-brand relationships, brand management and services marketing. Her research has been published in international scientific journals, such as EuroMed Journal of Business, Journal of Promotion Management and International Journal of Hospitality Management. Her work has also been presented at reputable international scientific conferences such as EMAC - European Marketing Academy Conference, GAMMA-GMC (Global Marketing Conference) and EuroMed Academy of Business conference.

Florinda Matos is PhD in Social Sciences, Organisational Behaviour Studies, by the University of Lisbon. She has a master’s degree in Business Sciences from INDEG/ISCTE – University Institute of Lisbon, a Bachelor’s Degree in Management of Agricultural Business, and a Bachelor’s Degree in Agronomic Engineering, both by the Polytechnic Institute of Santarém.
She is a Professor at ISCTE Business School – University Institute of Lisbon, where she teaches several courses in the areas of management and she is an invited Professor at several international universities.
As DINÂMIA'CET – IUL, Centre for the Study of Socioeconomic Change and the Territory integrated researcher, her main research interests are Knowledge Management, Intellectual Capital Management, Measuring of Intangibles, Sustainability, Innovation, Additive Manufacturing and Digital Transformation.
She was a post-Doc researcher in the Social Impacts of Additive Manufacturing at NOVA.id.FCT and she led the project KM3D - Knowledge Management in Additive Manufacturing: Designing New Business Models, in a national consortium, funded by FCT - Fundação para a Ciência e a Tecnologia.

Florinda is a member of the scientific committee of several international conferences, where she has participated as an organiser, speaker, mini-track chair and reviewer. She has more than 50 published academic articles and scientific papers, chapters, and books. She has also been an active participant in the press, where she has published more than 200 articles of opinion on issues of economic and social actuality, being invited to several podcasts.
She was Conference Chair of several international academic conferences.
Presently, she is associate editor in the area of Economics and Business at Journal Heliyon (Elsevier) and Guest Editor of Springer International Publishing.
She is coordinator of the Thematic Line "Digital Transformation" at the Sociodigital Lab for Public Policy and member of the implementation team of the AI4PA Digital Innovation Hub.
As intellectual capital management expert, Florinda is the founder and the president of the Intellectual Capital Association (ICAA), whose mission is to help transform intellectual capital into added value by contributing to sustainable development. Also, she is athe Portuguese ambassador of the New Club of Paris, an international organisation whose main objective is to create awareness about the Knowledge Economy. Also, she is the ambassador for Europe of the International Conference on Knowledge and Innovation (CIKI), organised by Universidade Federal de Santa Catarina (Brazil).
Likewise, she is a member of the Observatory on Knowledge Management and Innovation in Public Administration, from IPEA - Institute for Applied Economic Research of the Brazilian Government.
Henrique O'Neill is Associated Professor of Information Systems and Operations Management at ISCTE - University Institute of Lisbon, Portugal. He received his M.Sc. degree from IST/UL in Lisbon and the Ph.D. degree from the Cranfield University, United Kingdom. His research interests are broadly focused on the adoption of information systems and communication technologies to foster business performance, including business, operations and IS/IT strategy, modeling methods and approaches, organizational analysis and processes design, implementation and acceptance, and the quality of information systems in industry sectors like healthcare, banking and finance, the public administration and manufacturing. Ilídio Tomás Lopes was born on January 18, 1966, in the municipality of Abrantes (Portugal). He is currently a professor at "Iscte University Institute of Lisbon" and associate member of Bru_iscte Business Research Unit" of the same institution. He also teaches in the Executive Master in Business Management (Iscte_Executive Education) and in the Graduation of Economy and Regulation of Financial Institutions (Ipps_iscte). He is currently: Director of "Audax_iscte"; President of the Supervisory Board of "Iscte Conhecimento e Inovação", and Member of the Supervision Committee of OROC - Ordem dos REvisores Oficiais de Contas. He was Non-Executive Director, Member of Auditing Committee and Member of the Corporate Governance Committe, of Banco BIC Português, S.A. Isabel Lourenço is Full Professor and Director of the Accounting Department at ISCTE-IUL. She has a PhD in Management (specialization in Accounting) from ISCTE-IUL. She has about 30 years of experience teaching accounting topics in several academic programs (Bachelor, Master and PhD Programs) and Executive education programs at ISCTE-IUL.
She is a visiting professor at the University of São Paulo, where she teaches regularly in the Master and PhD programs in accounting. She has also been teaching and giving leatures at other universities in Brazil and at universities from other countries including the University of Glasgow, the Coventry University, and the University of Lille.
She is an Integrated Researcher at the ISCTE Business Research Unit (BRU-IUL). She regularly presents the results of her research at the most prestigious international scientific conferences. She has authored several scientific papers published in leading scientific journals including, for example, the European Accounting Review, Accounting and Business Research, Accounting Forum, Journal of Accounting in Emerging Economies, and Journal of Business Ethics. She has also authored more than 10 accounting text-books.
She has played an important role in the bodies that regulate accounting in Portugal. She is the Coordinator of the Corporate Accounting Standardization Committee of the Portuguese Accounting Standards Board (Comissão de Normalização Contabilística). She is also member of the jury of the Exam of entrance to the Portuguese Association of Chartered Accountants (Ordem dos Revisores Oficiais de Contas).
Currently, she is also a member of the Supervisory Board of Payshop and IMGA.
João Madeira is an Associate Professor at ISCTE-IUL. He obtained his PhD in 2008 at Boston University and worked afterwards at the University of Exeter and the University of York. He is a macroeconomist whose research focuses on the sources of business cycle fluctuations and in particular the role played by labour market rigidities. He currently works on understanding better inflation expectations and how disagreement in monetary policy committees arises and impacts the economy.
Research skills in Industrial and Services Engineering focusing on the strategic alignment of operations systems, by designing organisational change programmes that are adequate. Methodological concerns favour qualitative methods and Soft Systems Methodology applied to complex organisational problems. Broad professional experience ranging from engineering functions (Ferro Portugal), logistics management (Renault Portuguesa), consultancy in deployment of information systems (Grupo Violas; Ford of Europe - Southampton Plant), Managing Director (Agiltec), founding and developing its own business to teaching and researching in the university, all together for more than 36 years.
