Fabian Pereyra is a lawyer by education (graduated at La Plata University, Argentina) who worked independently during the beginning of his career. He has a PhD in law from the European University Institute, Florence, Italy.

He has been working for European Union Agencies, first at Eurojust and then at the European Monitoring Centre for Drugs and Drug Addiction (EMCDDA) in Lisbon.

He has published legal articles and he also contributed to a radio broadcast informative programme on legal matters. He lectured at the European Institute for Public Administration (EIPA) and the University of Lisbon on several occasions.
