Project led by Iscte presented at the 2024 Web Summit

The Managing Digital Transformation in the Health Sector (ManagiDiTH) project will be one of the four projects being presented at the Web Summit 2024, in Lisbon, as part of the European Union funded initiatives by the European Commission - DG CNECT, and the European Health and Digital Executive Agency (HaDEA).

The ManagiDiTH is a four-year project, launched in January 2023 and funded by the Digital Europe Programme, with the aim of creating a new Master’s degree curriculum that equips healthcare and digital professionals with the competencies needed to develop digital transformation processes and services in the health sector.

During the Web Summit 2024, the ManagiDiTH project will be presented by Maria do Carmo Gomes, Chief Lead Researcher at the Centre for Research and Studies in Sociology (CIES-Iscte), in a workshop dedicated to exploring current and future funding opportunities and also fostering closer connections, networking and partnerships. This will be a session organised on the 13th of November. This session is dedicated to EU funded projects that are researching or promoting cutting-edge digital technologies and skills, with a particular focus on Artificial Intelligence.

The Master's Degree is led by Iscte - University Institute of Lisbon and implemented by seven consortium partners from three European countries: Laurea University of Applied Sciences (Finland), Aristotle University of Thessaloniki (Greece), Instituto de Telecomunicações, Whymob, Lda., Clinipower Finland Ltd., Mundiserviços - Companhia Portuguesa de Serviços e Gestão, Lda.

The project team has designed and is currently implementing a joint European Master Program, contributing to develop ICT skills in over 20 million professionals. More than 200 students have applied to the first edition this school year and more than 180 are attending the online program from 18 different nationalities.

The ManagiDiTH Master programme includes in its Digital Skills component, a set of curricular contents related to these topics. For the two main target groups of this Master - digital and health professionals - these topics of are of high relevance for supporting the necessary digital transformation processes in the health sector.

The project will also be present at the HaDEA stand, where the Director of the Master, Professor Margarida Santos, and the student Gonçalo Envia, will be glad to reply to questions from the attendees coming from all over the world.

It is expected that this participation of the ManagiDiTH project in such an important global arena about digital and technological developments could represent an outstanding stage for attracting new students for the next edition of the Master (applications opening in late January here) as well as establishing new partnerships with private sector and other institutional actors.
