The Department of Anthropology at Iscte – University Institute of Lisbon was founded in 1982; since then, it has been a reference point for teaching and research in Anthropology in Portugal, offering an undergraduate programme, a Master's, two PhD programmes, and various other postgraduate courses.

The Department of Political Economy focuses its attention on the challenges presented by contemporary economic realities at national, European and global levels, and fosters a continual feedback between the production of knowledge and teaching. At its core, the programme contemplates the centrality of the relationship between economic and legal questions within contemporary societies.

With a tradition of more than 45 years at Iscte, the Department of Social and Organizational Psychology (DPSO) is recognized as a site of excellence in education, research and intervention in Psychology.
