Department of Mathematics

The Department of Mathematics at Iscte aims at the creation, transmission and application of knowledge in the field of Mathematics. It is the Department's objective to clearly and realistically promote the essential role of Mathematics in the development of science and in daily life, demonstrating that solid knowledge that can be used to solve concrete problems is fundamental, especially for developing new technologies, in both business and research contexts.

Department of Architecture and Urbanism

The Department of Architecture and Urbanism is an organizational unit of Iscte that includes the Integrated Master's in Architecture and the PhD in Architecture of Contemporary Metropolitan Territories as its principal educational offerings. The Department is strongly embedded in the scientific and academic community of Iscte.

Department of Information Science and Technology

The Department of Information Science and Technology (DCTI) was created in 1988, and is one of the three departments that make up the School of Technology and Architecture of the University Institute of Lisbon (Iscte). Currently, DCTI is the largest department of Iscte, with 59 faculty members with PhDs. Despite being a young department in the national arena, the faculty of DCTI is responsible for successfully creating several of the pioneering programmes of the Iscte School of Technology and Architecture (ISTA), namely the programme in Computer Science and Business Administration, created in 1989, and the programmes in Telecommunications and Computer Engineering, created in 1998 as the first of its kind in Portugal.
