Esta investigação procura compreender o modo como os festivais de música podem usufruir do património, de forma a revitalizá-lo, mas também contribuindo para a regeneração urbana, em prol da comunidade. O foco desta investigação é o Festival Zigurfest, um festival de música moderna portuguesa realizado em Lamego, que produz os seus concertos e outras atividades nas zonas históricas da cidade. Para este estudo pretende-se considerar o modo como o Festival renova a identidade da cidade, e consequentemente, compreender o que acrescenta ao desenvolvimento local. Ainda mais, do ponto de vista sociológico, é analisado como este Festival pode ser considerado um exemplo de novas formas de interpretar o património, com o desenvolvimento de valores na comunidade que levem à sua salvaguarda e proteção. Dado que no caso particular do Zigurfest, o Festival é realizado por pessoas da cidade para a usufruição da própria cidade, é também pretendido compreender como Lamego, enquanto cidade descentralizada, pode também ser lugar deste tipo de programação, renovando a sua identidade. Para este estudo, foi acompanhada a edição de 2023, observando as dinâmicas locais do Festival e o modo como a comunidade reage ao mesmo. Para além disso, foram feitas três fases de entrevistas, começando por uma abordagem a representantes das instituições de Lamego onde o Festival se realiza. Numa segunda fase, foi procurada uma visão interna do Festival, e por isso foram entrevistados membros da equipa e por fim, foram procurados testemunhos da comunidade local, de modo a compreender os efeitos deste evento.

This research seeks to understand how music festivals can make use of heritage to revitalize it, but also contribute to urban regeneration for the benefit of the community. The focus of this research is the Zigurfest Festival, a modern Portuguese music festival held in Lamego, which produces its concerts and other activities in the historic areas of the city. The aim of this study is to consider how the festival renews the city's identity and, consequently, to understand what it adds to local development. Furthermore, from a sociological point of view, it analyzes how the Zigurfest Festival can be considered an example of new ways of interpreting heritage, with the development of values in the community that lead to its safeguarding and protection. Given that, in the case of Zigurfest, the Festival is put on by local people for the enjoyment of the city itself, the aim is also to understand how Lamego, as a decentralized city, can also be a place for this type of programming, thus renewing its identity. For this study, the 2023 edition was monitored, observing the local dynamics of the Festival and how the community reacts to it. In addition, three phases of interviews were carried out, starting with an approach to representatives of the institutions of Lamego, where the Festival takes place. In a second phase, an internal view of the Festival was sought, so members of the team were interviewed and finally for the third phase, testimonies from the local community were sought out, to understand the effects of this event.
