Este trabalho analisa a eleição das mulheres para o Parlamento moçambicano entre 1994 e 2014 bem como as estratégias adotadas pelos partidos políticos no que concerne à importância que atribuem à igualdade de género. Ao longo do trabalho é feita a análise percentual da evolução da participação das mulheres, com recurso a tabelas construídas com base nas informações fornecidas pelo Secretariado Geral da Assembleia da República e obtidas a partir dos acórdãos do Conselho Constitucional de Moçambique e das deliberações da Comissão Nacional de Eleições, de modo a perceber melhor a evolução percentual da eleição das mulheres para o Parlamento moçambicano desde 1994 a 2014. A presença das mulheres no Parlamento moçambicano evoluiu de forma significativa desde as primeiras eleições gerais multipartidárias que tiveram lugar em 1994. Atualmente a percentagem das mulheres no Parlamento moçambicano ronda aos 38.8%, em consequência da estratégia adotada pelos partidos políticos para a inclusão das mulheres nas suas listas partidárias.

This paper analyzes the election of women to the Mozambican Parliament between 1994 and 2014 as well as the strategies adopted by the political parties regarding the importance they attribute to gender equality. The presence of women in the Mozambican Parliament has evolved significantly since the first multiparty general elections that took place in 1994. The percentage of women in the Mozambican Parliament currently stands at 38.8%, as a consequence of the strategy adopted by political parties to include women in their party lists. Throughout this paper, the percentage analysis of the evolution of women's participation is made by using tables constructed based on the information provided by the General Secretariat of the Assembly of the Republic and obtained from the judgments of the Constitutional Council of Mozambique and the deliberations of the National Commission in order to better understand the percentage evolution of women's elections to the Mozambican Parliament from 1994 to 2014.
