The workshop will teach how to conduct and publish empirical research in light of the replication crisis and ongoing methodologial innovations in psychological science.
We will discuss topics relevant to conducting good research from planning statistical power, preregistration, and the difference between exploratory and confirmatory research. The publication part will reflect on how to report these topics, how to structure a paper, and explain the publication process in detail. The workshop has a practical part where structuring is illustrated by working on writing abstracts, and a homework part where students prepare and present short talks in the pecha kucha format.
