A liderança, tal como as organizações, vive hoje num mundo em permanente mudança. Apontada como um dos fatores fundamentais para o sucesso empresarial, existe a necessidade de se reinventar consoante as alterações presentes no contexto interno e externo à organização. Esta dissertação tem como objetivo identificar qual o estilo de liderança predominante entre profissionais com a categoria profissional de chefe de grupo, a exercer funções, no Setor da Segurança Privada. Recorrendo ao método de investigação qualitativo, para a recolha dos dados necessários, foram realizadas 10 entrevistas individuais, acompanhadas por um guião semi-estruturado, a atuais chefes de grupo. Posteriormente, efetuou-se a análise de contéudo das informações recolhidas nas entrevistas, aquando a sua transcrição. Foi também realizada uma breve contextualização sobre o setor em estudo, assim como um balanço da sua evolução. A análise ao setor da Segurança Privada é pertinente considerando a falta de estudos no que diz respeito aos líderes. Caracterizado por trabalhadores com habilitações abaixo do ensino superior, revelou-se muito interessante o estudo do modo de liderança. Com base no estudo dos três estilos de liderança de Kurt Lewin e tendo em conta todos os dados recolhidos, este estudo veio clarificar que o modo como os profissionais da Segurança Privada lideram se identifica com o estilo Democrático.

The leadership, like organizations, lives today in an ever-changing world. Appointed as one of the fundamental factors for business success, there is a need to reinvent itself according to the changes present in the internal and external context of the organization. This dissertation aims to identify the predominant leadership style among professionals with the professional category of group leader, performing functions in the Private Security Sector. Using the qualitative research method, to collect the necessary data, 10 individual interviews were carried out, accompanied by a semi-structured guide, to current group leaders. Subsequently, the content analysis of the information collected in the interviews was carried out, when transcribed. A brief contextualization of the sector under study is also carried out, as well as an overview of its evolution. The analysis of the Private Security sector is pertinent considering the lack of studies regarding leaders. Characterized by workers with qualifications below higher education, the study of the leadership mode proved to be very interesting. Based on the study of Kurt Lewin's three leadership styles and taking into account all the data collected, this study clarified that the way in which Private Security professionals lead is identified with the Democratic style.
