A região geográfica

Given the age and routine of the interaction between Medical Sales Representatives and General
Practice Doctors, this study aimed to assess the perception and expectations of Doctors regarding this
relationship, as well as to study its features and relevance.
A descriptive analysis was carried out in order to understand how this relationship is currently
taking place, whether the COVID-19 pandemic affected the type of visits and if it is affected by the
place of work, region, degree of specialty and age of the Doctor. Therefore, an individual survey was
carried out to a sample of 371 physicians measured nationwide.
It was found that this interaction is pertinent, acceptable and relevant for clinical practice. It was
settled that a Medical Sales Representative must have good synthesis skills, clearly scientific updates
and be friendly. It was also concluded that updating, support for training/conferences and knowledge
about the products are the most significant parts for the Doctor and that the end of this interface
would lead to scientific outdated and prescription stagnation.
Finally, it was determined that the ideal length of visit is influenced by the region and type of unit
in which the Doctor works, by the academic/professional stage and by the Doctor's age. The geographic
region similarly impacts the number of visits that the Doctor takes and that the age influences the kind
of visit.
