Nas últimas décadas, um crescente corpo de literatura surgiu para ilustrar o forte crescimento, significado e importância atribuídas às competências digitais. Este trabalho apresenta uma discussão conceptual a partir de estudos disponíveis na literatura. Para isso, recorreu-se a três bases de dados: google académico, Science Hub e Research Gate, com as palavras-chave Competências Digitais, Competência Digital e a sua tradução em inglês, italiano ou espanhol. Utilizou-se publicações realizadas entre 2008 e 2022, excluindo os artigos coincidentes e selecionando os de interesse para o objetivo. Constatou-se que as questões relativas à definição concreta do conceito não são facilmente elucidadas na revisão da literatura, uma vez que se verifica uma extensa diversidade teórica em torno do mesmo. Contudo, foi percetível na maioria das opiniões e definições um certo consenso em algumas definições, levando a crer que ao falarmos de competências digitais podemos nos referir, facilmente, aos conhecimentos, atitudes e/ou habilidades relacionados com o uso das TIC, que os sujeitos devem ser dotados.

In the last few decades, a growing body of literature has emerged to illustrate the strong growth, meaning and importance attached to digital skills. This work presents a conceptual discussion based on studies available in the literature. For this, three databases were used: academic google, Science Hub and Research Gate, with the keywords Digital Competencies, Digital Competence, and their translation into English, Italian or Spanish. Publications carried out between 2008 and 2022 were used, excluding coincident articles and selecting those of interest for the objective. It was found that the issues related to the concrete definition of the concept are not easily elucidated in the literature review, since there is an extensive theoretical diversity around it. However, it was noticeable in most opinions and definitions a certain consensus in some definitions, leading us to believe that when we talk about digital skills, we can easily refer to the knowledge, attitudes and/or skills related to the use of ICT, which the subject must be gifted.
