Uma nova forma de se comunicar surgiu juntamente com a internet. Nesse contexto, as redes sociais surgiram para aumentar a conectividade e o entretenimento e seu uso pode trazer benefícios, assim como problemas que afetam a saúde. O objetivo do estudo é analisar a relação entre o uso das redes sociais online, mais especificamente o Instagram, e a perceção dos seus efeitos na saúde mental. A metodologia utilizada, partindo da revisão bibliográfica, analisa artigos e trabalhos científicos relacionados ao tema; e desenvolve um estudo de caso de um perfil do Instagram voltado a saúde mental, o @conte.te.vc.

A new way of communicating emerged along with the internet. In this context, social networks emerged to increase connectivity and entertainment, and their use can bring benefits, as well as problems that affect health. The objective of the study is to analyze the relationship between the use of online social networks, more specifically Instagram, and the perception of its effects on mental health. The methodology used, starting from the bibliographic review, analyzes articles and scientific works related to the topic; and develops a case study of an Instagram profile focused on mental health, @contente.vc.
