A presente investigação intitulada “Acompanhamento social às famílias beneficiárias do Rendimento Social de Inserção” tem por objectivo conhecer como o assistente social intervém no RSI, e em que medida as finalidades da sua intervenção se orientam para qualificar e dar competências às famílias, intervencionadas aos níveis da: inserção pessoal, social e profissional. O estudo teve como unidade de análise a Cooperativa Sócio Educativa Para Desenvolvimento Comunitário (CSEPDC), nomeadamente o Gabinete de Atendimento ao Rendimento Social de Inserção de Sacavém (GARSIS), sendo a amostra constituída por 22 beneficiários desta medida de prestação social. A investigação concluiu que o assistente social tem um papel importante: na identificação e sistematização das diferentes áreas de inserção, analisando a sua adequabilidade relativamente às necessidades das famílias beneficiárias do Rendimento Social de Inserção; e na concepção e operacionalização dos programas de inserção, pois conjuntamente com o beneficiário e respectivo agregado familiar constrói o seu percurso de inserção.

This research entitled as "The Social Attendance to Families who benefit from the Social Integration Income” aims to understand how social workers intervene in RSI and to what extent their purpose of intervention is oriented to, towards qualifying and giving competences to the selected families as far as personal, social and professional integration is concerned. This study had, as unit of analysis, the “Cooperativa Sócio Educativa Para Desenvolvimento Comunitário” (CSEPDC), namely the “Gabinete de Atendimento ao Rendimento Social de Inserção de Sacavém” (GARSIS), and the samples consisted from 22 beneficiaries of this social benefit measure. The investigation concluded that the social worker has an important role: in the identification and systematization of the different areas of integration; analysing his adaptability to the family needs, those who benefit from Social Integration Income; in the conception and procedure of insertion programs; thus, together with the beneficiary members and their household, the social worker builds up the insertion process.
