Esta dissertação pretende analisar o conteúdo da revista académica "Entrepreneurship Theory and Practice", durante o seu período de publicação, com o objetivo de obter conclusões pertinentes sobre o tema do empreendedorismo. É enquadrado, este campo de estudo, em duas dimensões económicas, micro e macro. Com base em conceitos de bibliometria e seus indicadores, é realizada uma análise detalhada dos artigos publicados pela revista. O capítulo empírico divide-se numa análise bibliométrica de produtividade e numa análise de impacto. Na primeira parte, observa-se a evolução das publicações, identifica-se também, no gráfico que ilustra os tipos de documentos publicados pela revista, o tipo de documento relevante para a análise de impacto, o que gera valor científico, o artigo científico. Permite, também, verificar os autores, países e Universidades norte-americanas mais referidas na base de dados. Posteriormente, distingue estes autores dos autores com maior impacto. Na análise de impacto, são tidas em conta as citações referentes às revistas académicas, artigos e autores, constatando os mais influentes. É realizada uma análise de redes colaborativas, cujo capítulo incluí deduções relevantes acerca da transmissão do conhecimento no empreendedorismo. E por fim, com os grupos de palavras-chave que o" software Vos viewer" formou, conclui-se em que dimensões o campo do empreendedorismo se divide, e quais os temas mais abordados dentro desta área de investigação tão abrangente e relevante em diversas áreas sociais.

This dissertation aims to analyze the content of the academic journal Entrepreneurship Theory and Practice, during its period of publication, as a means to draw relevant conclusions on the field of entrepreneurship. This research area is framed within two economic dimensions, micro and macro. A dosetailed analysis of the articles published by the journal is performed based in bibliometric concepts and its indicators. The empirical chapter is divided into the bibliometric analysis of productivity and the impact analysis. In the first part, the evolution of the publications is determined, as well as, and according to the graphic describing the types of documents published, the identification of the most relevant type of document used for the impact analysis, which generates scientific value, namely the scientific article. Moreover, it enables to verify the most referred authors, countries and North American universities in the database. Subsequently, it’s possible to distinguish the regular authors from the most influential ones. Regarding the impact analysis, the citations referring to academic journals, articles and authors are considered, thus identifying the most influential ones. Furthermore, an analysis of collaborative networks is performed, thereby including interesting inferences about the transmission of knowledge. Finally, with the keyword groups that the Vos viewer software has formed, it is possible to infer in which dimensions the field of entrepreneurship is divided, as well as which topics are mostly addressed within this area of research that is extremely wide and relevant in several social areas.
