A aldeia histórica de Castelo Novo, no concelho do Fundão está pouco explorada em termos turísticos e culturais. Verifica-se que o património cultural existente está desaproveitado enquanto recurso turístico, algum mesmo degradado, justificando-se assim o desenho de um projeto que promova a fruição do património cultural em Castelo Novo, algo que de momento não existe. Como objetivo principal deste trabalho, está a criação de um projeto que englobe os bens patrimoniais com possibilidade de serem fruídos existentes na aldeia de Castelo Novo. Este projeto pretende contribuir para aumentar a atratividade da aldeia não apenas enquanto destino turístico, mas também como local para fixação, fomentando o seu desenvolvimento e impedido o seu desaparecimento. A metodologia deste trabalho de projeto desenvolve-se em várias vertentes. Por um lado, a realização de um inventário do património cultural existente em Castelo Novo (material e imaterial), identificando a possibilidade dos bens culturais se constituírem enquanto recurso capaz de ser utilizado no âmbito de um projeto cultural (roteirização). A realização deste Inventário assenta em trabalho de campo, realizado no local, através da observação direta com o preenchimento de fichas de inventário. Por outro lado, utiliza-se uma metodologia de desenho de projeto, tal como proposto por Cerezuela (2007), que permita inserir os elementos patrimoniais previamente identificados num processo de roteirização patrimonial (Figueira, 2013), incluindo uma análise aos pontos fracos e fortes tanto da aldeia como do património cultural. Para depois apresentar uma proposta de roteiro patrimonial de Castelo Novo, baseado no património cultural da aldeia e que possibilite o desenvolvimento da mesma.

The historic village of Castelo Novo, in the municipality of Fundão, is little explored in terms of tourism and culture. The existing cultural heritage is unused as a tourist resource, some even degraded, thus justifying the design of a project that promotes the enjoyment of cultural heritage in Castelo Novo, something that does not exist now. The main objective of this work is the creation of a project that encompasses the heritage assets with the possibility of being enjoyed in the village of Castelo Novo. This project aims to contribute to increasing the attractiveness of the village not only as a tourist destination, but also as a place for settlement, fostering its development and preventing its disappearance. The methodology of this project work is developed in several aspects. On the one hand, the realization of an inventory of the existing cultural heritage in Castelo Novo (tangible and intangible), identifying the possibility of cultural assets constituting themselves as a resource capable of being used within the scope of a cultural project (scripting). The realization of this Inventory is based on fieldwork, carried out on site, through direct observation with the completion of inventory forms. On the other hand, a project design methodology is used, as proposed by Cerezuela (2007), which allows the insertion of the previously identified heritage elements in a heritage routing process (Figueira, 2013), including an analysis of the weaknesses and strengths of both the village and the cultural heritage. To then present a proposal for a heritage itinerary of Castelo Novo, based on the cultural heritage of the village and that enables its development.
