Álvaro Rosa is a professor of Management. His areas of research and study are Strategy, Governance and Cross-Cultural Management. In addition, he is also a researcher and teacher of Chinese Studies, namely Contemporary China. Currently, he is the Director of Master Degree in Chinese Studies, a joint program of University of Aveiro and ISCTE - IUL. Professionally, he is a coach and trainer in negotiation techniques.
Com um doutoramento em Gestão pela Universidade de Tilburg nos Países Baixos, Ana leciona na Iscte Business School sobre os temas de Gestão Estratégica e Sustentabilidade, Ética e Responsabilidade Social. Atualmente é Associate Dean for Engagement and Impact na Iscte Business School.
Como investigadora integrada na Business Research Unit (BRU-Iscte), o seu trabalho tem aparecido em vários pontos de publicação, incluindo o Journal of Business Ethics, Public Management Review, International Journal of Sustainable Development and World Ecology ou Social Responsibility Journal. Desempenhou o papel de Associate editor do International Journal of Sustainability in Higher Education e Topic editor do Sustainability.
Ana está também a colaborar como Guardian do GRLI Council (Globally Responsible Leadership Initiative), Head of Programmatic Work no PRME Chapter Iberia, e serve como Interlocutora de Qualidade e Sustentabilidade para a Iscte Business School. No passado, Ana foi Subdiretora do Departamento de Marketing, Operações e Gestão Geral, membro da Comissão Científica da BRU-Iscte, e coordenadora da dimensão de Prosperidade da Sustentabilidade no Iscte, e colaborou como especialista na ISO TC323 sobre Economia Circular.
Ana complementou adicionalmente a sua formação académica com várias qualificações profissionais, incluindo o GRI Certified Training Program, o Sustainable Business Strategy da Harvard Business School Online, e certificações como Advanced Chief Sustainability Officer (CSO) Professional, como Facilitadora Certificada LEGO® SERIOUS PLAY® e como Facilitadora Certificada em Pro.Play®.
Aristides I. Ferreira é Professor Associado no ISCTE - Instituto Universitário de Lisboa, Portugal, onde é o Diretor do programa de Mestrado em Gestão de Recursos Humanos e Consultoria Organizacional. É, igualmente, membro do Conselho Científico e Investigador da Business Research Unit do mesmo instituto. É doutorado em Psicologia pela Universidade do Minho (Portugal) e pós-doutorado pela Universidade Livre de Berlim (Alemanha). Leciona cursos relacionados com a Gestão de Recursos Humanos, Comportamento Organizacional e Gestão da Mudança em diversos cursos de licenciatura, mestrado e doutoramento. Desde 2018 faz parte do Executive Committee of the European Association of Psychological Assessment. Os seus interesses de investigação incluem a avaliação psicológica / psicometria, liderança, criatividade, gestão da mudança e presentismo. Nos últimos anos fez parte de vários projetos de investigação financiados e colaborou com várias organizações públicas e privadas. Atualmente tem vários livros publicados e mais de 60 artigos publicados em revistas científicas com revisão por pares como o International Journal of Project Management, o Journal of Business Research, o British Journal of Management e o Journal of Organizational Behavior.

Fernando Alberto Freitas FERREIRA holds a PhD in Quantitative Methods Applied to Economics and Management from the University of Algarve (Portugal). In 2009, he was awarded a Calouste Gulbenkian Foundation fellowship for post-doctoral studies at the University of Memphis (TN, USA). His academic journey includes visiting scholar collaborations at several international institutions, such as the University of Memphis (TN, USA), University of Electronic Science and Technology of China (Chengdu, China), Monterrey Institute of Technology and Higher Education (CHIH, Mexico), University of Kaiserslautern (Germany), and Central College of Commerce (Scotland).
Currently, he serves as Full Professor of Strategy and Decision Analysis at ISCTE Business School, University Institute of Lisbon (Portugal), where he coordinates the PhD program specialization in Strategy and Entrepreneurship and directs the Executive Master in Management (for non-Business Administration graduates). Additionally, he holds the position of Adjunct Research Professor at the Fogelman College of Business and Economics at the University of Memphis (TN, USA).
Fernando has authored books, book chapters, +170 peer-reviewed papers, and has made +200 conference presentations. He has also delivered keynote and invited speeches at conferences worldwide, including in Albania, Hungary, Japan, Mexico, Spain and South Korea. His work has been published in leading international journals, including the European Journal of Operational Research (ABS 4), Annals of Operations Research (ABS 3), Energy Economics (ABS 3), IEEE Transactions on Engineering Management (ABS 3), Journal of Business Research (ABS 3), Journal of Small Business Management (ABS 3), Journal of the Operational Research Society (ABS 3), R&D Management (ABS 3), and Technological Forecasting & Social Change (ABS 3). He also serves as Associate Editor and/or Editorial Board Member for several international journals.
In terms of practical experience, Fernando is a Senior Manager at Montis West Corporation (TN, USA) and has +25 years of experience as a group facilitator. He has provided consultancy services and/or executive education to both private and public-sector organizations. Some of the notable entities he has collaborated with include Caixa Geral de Depósitos (Portuguese state-owned banking corporation), Fidelidade Insurance Company (market leader in Portugal), Infraestruturas de Portugal (Portugal’s rail and road infrastructure manager), Metropolitano de Lisboa (state-owned metro company), Amplexor/Acolad (global leader in digital services), and PERI Brazil (one of the largest providers of formwork and scaffolding solutions in Latin America).
He has also served as evaluator for numerous international projects funded by European research bodies, including the Dutch Research Council (NWO) in the Netherlands, and the Science Fund of the Republic of Serbia. His primary research interests include multi-criteria decision analysis (MCDA), strategic decision-making, and integrated systems for performance measurement, with a particular focus on the banking and real estate sectors.
Helena holds a PhD in Accounting and Finance from Lancaster University, UK. She is full professor of accounting at Iscte Business School in Lisbon, and previously worked at Bayes Business School in London. She had visiting positions at the University of Miami in the US, where she was a Fulbright Research Scholar, and at Sydney University in Australia. Her research interests are on financial markets, corporate governance and international financial reporting. Helena participates regularly in top international conferences such as meetings of the European Accounting Association, American Accounting Association, and European Finance Association. She is often invited to speak at seminars, conferences, and doctoral meetings of prestigious European and US universities. Helena's research has been published in top journals in accounting and finance, such as the Accounting Review, Journal of Accounting Research, Journal of Business Finance and Accounting, European Accounting Review, Journal of Accounting Auditing and Finance, and Journal of Business Ethics. Her research findings have been used by international organizations dealing with corporate reporting issues, such as the International Accounting Standards Board (IASB), the CFA Institute, and the European Financial Reporting Advisory Group (EFRAG). Helena serves the community taking roles in various committees of the European Accounting Association, as associated editor of the journals European Accounting Review and Accounting Business Research, and as a member of evaluation panels for recruitment and for PhD grants. During her career, Helena managed various research projects funded by the Portuguese Science Foundation FCT, participated in an European Training Network, and won several awards including Best European PhD thesis in Management by EDAMBA, best conference papers, and best reviewer. Helena has also been awarded a Fulbright Scholarship to develop a one year research project at the University of Miami in the US.
É professor no ISCTE desde 2000. Atualmente é professor associado no Departamento de Recursos Humanos e Comportamento Organizacional (RHCO).
Possui Agregação na área de Recursos Humanos (ISCTE 2020); é Doutorado em Psicologia Social e das Organizações (ISCTE 2007), sobre o tema Cooperação e Oportunismo, efectuou o Mestrado em Psicologia Social e das Organizações (ISCTE 2001), sobre o tema Ética e Responsabilidade e finalizou a sua licenciatura em Organização e Gestão de Empresas (ISCTE 1991).
Participou em avaliações de programas de financiamento da União Europeia. No sector privado assumiu o cargo de responsável de RH numa instituição bancária (1993-1998) e funções técnicas de RH numa empresa do sector automóvel (1990-1993).
Os principais temas de interesse de investigação situam-se nas áreas da incerteza, cooperação e comportamentos contra-produtivos em equipas de trabalho, efeitos dos sistemas de recompensas e controlo nas organizações, bem como nas relações entre as políticas de RH e a confiança organizacional e assimetrias de poder.
Isabel Lourenço é Professora Catedrática e Diretora do Departamento de Contabilidade do ISCTE-IUL. É doutora em Gestão (especialização em Contabilidade) pelo ISCTE-IUL. Tem cerca de 30 anos de experiência no ensino de temas de contabilidade em vários programas académicos (Licenciatura, Mestrado e Doutoramento) e programas de formação executiva no ISCTE-IUL.
É professora visitante da Universidade de São Paulo, onde leciona regularmente nos programas de mestrado e doutorado em contabilidade. Tem também lecionado e realizado apresentações em seminários de outras universidades no Brasil e em universidades de outros países, incluindo a Universidade de Glasgow, a Universidade de Coventry e a Universidade de Lille.
É Investigadora Integrada na Business Research Unit do ISCTE (BRU-IUL). Apresenta regularmente os resultados da sua investigação nas mais prestigiadas conferências científicas internacionais. É autora de vários artigos científicos publicados em revistas científicas de referência a nível internacional, incluindo, por exemplo, a European Accounting Review, Accounting and Business Research, Accounting Forum, Journal of Accounting in Emerging Economies e Journal of Business Ethics. É também autora de mais de 10 livros de contabilidade.
Tem desempenhado um papel importante nos órgãos que regulam a contabilidade em Portugal. É Coordenadora do Comité de Normalização Contabilística Empresarial da Comissão de Normalização Contabilística. É também membro do júri do Exame de Admissão à Ordem dos Revisores Oficiais de Contas.
Atualmente, é também membro do Conselho Fiscal da Payshop e da IMGA.
José Dias Curto is full professor at Instituto Universitário de Lisboa (ISCTE-IUL Business School, Quantitative Methods Departament) and investigator at Business Research Unit (BRU-IUL), Lisboa, Portugal. He earned his PhD in Quantitative Methods for Management from the Instituto Universitário de Lisboa (ISCTE-IUL), MA in Management from Instituto Universitário de Lisboa (ISCTE-IUL) and Bachellor's degree in Economics from Instituto Superior de Economia, Portugal. His primary research focuses statistics and econometrics with applications to finance, accounting and economics. Maria João Major (publication name, Maria Major) is Full Professor of Management Accounting and Control at ISCTE-IUL (Lisbon, Portugal). She holds a PhD from the University of Manchester, UK and a Post-doc from the Manchester Business School, UK. Maria João was visiting researcher fellow at Alliance Manchester Business School, UK in 2016 and at Griffith University, Australia in 2001. She has published in academic journals such as ‘Management Accounting Research’, ‘European Accounting Review’, ‘Accounting, Auditing and Accountability Journal’, ‘Accounting, Organizations and Society’, 'Financial Accountability & Management', ‘Journal of Public Budgeting, Accounting & Financial Management’ and ‘Public Money and Management’, among others. Maria João is also the author or co-author of several books and international book chapters. She is on the editorial board of ‘Qualitative Research on Accounting and Management’, ‘Journal of Accounting and Organizational Change’, ‘Journal of Public Budgeting, Accounting & Financial Management’ and earlier on the editorial board of the ‘European Accounting Review’. She is additionally active in refereeing articles for a number of leading accounting journals. Maria João has served as member of scientific committees in several international accounting conferences. She was the convenor of ‘Manufacturing Accounting Research (EIASM) 2016’ and of the ‘European Network for Research on Organizational and Accounting Change (ENROAC) 2011’ conferences. Aditionally, Maria João has received teaching awards as best professor. Prior to joining ISCTE-IUL she was Associate Professor at Nova School of Business and Economics where she taught in the PhD, Master, Bachelor and Executive Education programmes.
Paula Vicente is Associate Professor of Statistics and Data Analysis at Iscte Business School, Researcher at BRU-Iscte (Data Analytics), and consultant on numerous projects in terms of survey design, questionnaire design, sampling, and reporting.
Paula holds a PhD in Quantitative Methods (Surveys and Opinion Polls) from Iscte-Instituto Universitário de Lisboa.
Current research areas: telephone / mobile phone surveys, official statistics, data science meets surveys, in which she has published several papers, book chapters and conference presentations.
Paula published two books titled: Sondagens: a amostragem como fator decisivo de qualidade (1996; 2001) e Estudos de Mercado e de Opinião (2012), by Edições Sílabo. She is a member of the team responsible for Sondagens ICS/Iscte.
She is in the editorial board of Sage Open and Sustainability.
Sandra Costa é Professora Auxiliar no Departamento de Recursos Humanos e Comportamento Organizacional no ISCTE- IBS. O seu doutoramento é na área da Gestão (especialidade de Comportamento Organizacional) e foi obtido na Nova SBE. Leccionou diversas cadeiras na área da Gestão de Recursos Humanos, Comportamento Organizacional, Psicologia Organizacional e Ocupacional e Métodos Quantitativos em diferentes universidades: Universidade de Liverpool (Reino Unido), Nova School of Business and Economics (PT), Universidade Europeia e Instituto Português de Administração de Marketing (PT). Já publicou em revistas internacionais tais como Journal of Vocational Behavior, Annual Review of Organizational Psychology and Organizational Behavior, British Journal of Management and Work & Stress. É também investigadora responsável num projecto financiado pela FCT.

Sandra Loureiro belongs to that 2%. Within the top 2%, Sandra Loureiro is the only Portuguese that belongs to the very core top group of the first 100 scientists all over the world. Sandra Loureiro is in the position 20 among the 14139 (Economics and Business) researchers in Marketing and position 21 in Sport, Leisure & Tourism.
Sandra Maria Correia Loureiro is Professor at ISCTE-IUL and a researcher in the BRU and SOCIUS. She is the Director of Portuguese Marketing & Management SBU of GAMMA (Global Alliance of Marketing and Management Associations). She is also in the Scientific consulting body of (i) EuroMed and Euromed Research Business (EMRBI), (ii) AIRSI Conference and in relation to the Spanish Journal of Marketing-ESIC, (iii) CEO - Centro de Investigação de Economia e das Organizações, among others the scientific Committees. In 2024 she won the BEST TRACK CHAIR AWARD in the 2024 Global Fashion Management conference for the conjoint symposium GAMMA-BRU-Iscte.
Her current research interests include relationship marketing (Brand coolness), tourism marketing and the connections between marketing and VR, AR and AI. She has publications with academics from different countries in the world, such as USA, UK, Germany, Spain, Austria, South Korean, China, Australia, Cyprus, Greece, Israel, Italy, Mexico, Chile, Malaysia, Brasil. Her papers were published in a variety of peer reviewed journals, such as Journal of Marketing (ABS 4*), Journal of Retailing (ABS 4), Tourism Management (ABS 4), Journal of Travel Research (ABS 4), Journal of Business Research (ABS 3), International journal of Hospitality Management (ABS 3), Journal of Cleaner Production, Journal of retailing and consumer services, Journal of Travel &Tourism Marketing, Journal of service management, International Journal of Tourism Research or Journal of Brand Management and at well reputed international conferences, such as EMAC, ANZMAC, GAMMA-GMC, World Marketing Congress. She has acted as a reviewer for several international journals and conferences. She has participated in several research projects funded by the EU and FCT (Foundation for Science and Technology) She won several awards, such as: the 2012 Best Paper Premier Award presented by the Global Marketing Conference (comprised of EMAC, ANZMAC, KSMS, and the Japanese Association of Marketing), Highly Commended paper Award 2014 - 7th EuroMed Conference and EuroMed Research Business Institute (EMRBI), Highly Commended paper Award 2016 - 9th EuroMed Conference and EuroMed Research Business Institute (EMRBI), Best Paper Award 2016- ICCMI 2016, Best Paper Award TomiWorld 2017 and Highly Commended paper in the 2017 Emerald Literati Network Awards for Excellence for paper 'Exploring behavioural branding, brand love and brand co-creation' published in Journal of Product & Brand Management, Best Paper Honour Award at 2019 Global Fashion Management conference-GAMMA (among others). Sandra has also participated in Zoom webinars and in-person interviews for newspapers, magazines, and TV where she exposes the social implications of her research (e.g., Briefing, DINHEIRO VIVO, Publico, Journal Económico).
Sofia Kalakou, Assistant Professor at ISCTE Business School since 2018. Director of BSc in Industrial Management and Logistics. PhD in Transportation Systems (Instituto Superior Técnico, MIT-Portugal program). Sofia has previously worked as a transport consultant and researcher on transport planning, passenger and cargo modelling and forecasting, simulation of airport operations, integration of new technologies in transport systems, performance assessment and sustainability. She participates as a Reviewer at international Journals.
