Este trabalho tem como propósito analisar o papel do Tribunal de Contas na promoção de boa governança na Guiné-Bissau. A metodologia utilizada para a conceção deste trabalho insere- se numa metodologia qualitativa e quantitativa, que implicou a pesquisa de um conjunto de documentos ligados ao TC, tais como, relatórios de auditorias, livros, dissertações, entre outros. Pode concluir-se que, a transição do TAFC para o TC tem contribuído, de uma forma significativa, para a melhoria da boa governança pública, tendo em conta o elevado nível de fiscalização empreendida nos últimos tempos, sobretudo na realização de auditorias e de fiscalização das contas do Estado. Verifica-se uma contribuição positiva na melhoria da eficiência e eficácia da gestão da coisa pública.

This paper aims to analyse the role of the Court of Auditors in the promotion of good governance in Guinea-Bissau. The methodology used to design this work is part of a qualitative and quantitative methodology, which involved the research of a set of documents linked to the TC, such as audit reports, books, dissertations, among others. It can be concluded that, the transition from the TAFC to the TC has contributed, in a significant way, to the improvement of good public governance, taking into account the high level of inspection undertaken in recent times, especially in the performance of audits and supervision of State accounts. There is a positive contribution in the improvement of efficiency and effectiveness in the management of public affairs.
