Este estudo teve como principal objetivo compreender como o efeito moderador do suporte social dos pares influencia a relação entre o tipo de ensino e o processo de tomada de decisão de carreira. A amostra deste estudo constitui-se por 339 alunos do ensino secundário a frequentar o ensino regular (n=194) e o ensino profissional (n=145), em escolas do distrito de Évora. A recolha de dados contou com o preenchimento de informação sociodemográfica e de dois questionários em papel, o Questionário de Satisfação de Necessidades Psicológicas Básicas na Relação, para avaliar a perceção de suporte social dos pares e o Questionário de Dificuldades de Tomada de Decisão de Carreira, para avaliação do processo de tomada de decisão de carreira. Os resultados indicam que existe uma correlação positiva entre a perceção do suporte social dos pares e a tomada de decisão de carreira, embora não se tenha confirmado a hipótese de que o tipo de ensino frequentado influencia a tomada de decisão de carreira, mediante o suporte dos pares (H1). Ou seja, não foi encontrada uma relação estatisticamente significativa entre o tipo de ensino e a tomada de decisão de carreira. Quanto à hipótese 2, afirma-se também que não foram verificadas diferenças significativas relativamente ao processo de tomada de decisão de carreira, comparando os dois grupos de ensino.

This study has as is main objective to understand how the moderator effect of the social support from the peers affects the relation between the type of education and the career decision-making process. The sample from this study is composed by 339 students from secondary school attending regular education (n=194) and professional education (n=145), in schools from the district of Évora. The data was collected by the filling of sociodemographic information and two questionnaires in paper, the Satisfaction of Basic Psychologic Needs in The Relation Questionnaire to evaluate the perception of social support from the peers and the Career Decision-Making Difficulties Questionnaire to evaluate the career decision-making process. The results indicate that exist a positive correlation between the perception of the social support from the peers and the career decision-making, despite the fact that is not possible to confirm that the type of education affects the career decision-making process, by peer support (H1).Which means, that was not found a statistically significative relation between the type of education and the career decision-making. As for the hypothesis 2, it is also stated that there was not verified any significant differences regarding the career decision-making process, comparing the two types of education.
