Academic Services at Iscte issues a variety of documents with the objectives of certifying many different aspects of the academic career of the student.
CERTIFICATE
Formal document issued by SGE with the purpose of proving situations of interest to the student:
- Certificate of enrollment in curricular units (either within a course or stand-alone).
- Certificate of approval in completed curricular units (either within a course or stand-alone).
- Erasmus Program Certificate.
DIPLOMA
Document issued in a legally predefined form, proof of finishing a study programme leading to an academic degree, or completion of a non-degree course, issued by the educational institution which confers it. In the case of joint degrees (double or multiple-title), diplomas can be issued by each one of the higher education establishments or jointly by the involved institutions:
- Course cards.
- Master's cards.
- Doctoral cards.
- Certificates proving the completion of an academic degree (in the case of Iscte, designated as Diplomas).
- Official documents proving the completion of non-degree programme.
DIPLOMA SUPPLEMENTS
Bilingual complementary document included in a diploma (course card, magisterial card, doctoral card or diploma of a non-diploma course), that aims to contribute to improving international transparency and equal recognition of professional and academic qualifications (diplomas, degrees, certifications, etc.), through the presentation of the following information:
- Description of the Portuguese system of higher education and its context in the larger education system at the date at which the diploma was obtained.
- Characterization of the institution that administered the education and conferred the diploma.
- Characterization of education completed (degree, area, access requirements, normal duration, level) and its objectives.
- Inclusion of detailed information on the completed programme and the results obtained.
- Inclusion of supplementary information about extracurricular activities duly certified to augment the academic path of the student.
COURSE CARD
Additional document that may substitute for the diploma which proves completion of a bachelor’s or master’s degree.
DOCTORAL CARD
Additional document that may substitute for the diploma which proves completion of a doctorate degree.
