O interesse pela temática da Inteligência Emocional veio, cada vez mais, aumentando ao longo dos últimos anos, obrigando a um alargamento da sua abrangência para muitos setores sociais e organizacionais, abarcando, inclusive, as funções de comando de forças policiais. Contudo, a literatura sobre o uso da Inteligência Emocional em funções de liderança, principalmente em contexto militar, é ainda muito escassa. Posto isto, este trabalho tem como objetivo geral analisar o impacto da Inteligência Emocional na Liderança. Para tal, foi realizado um Estudo de Caso no Comando Territorial da Guarda Nacional Republicana de Santarém, onde foram implementados inquéritos por questionário, auscultando 53 Oficiais e Sargentos Comandantes de Destacamento. Através dos resultados obtidos é possível verificar que a Inteligência Emocional influência o desempenho dos Oficiais e Sargentos Comandantes de Destacamento enquanto líderes. Tendo isto e o objetivo geral do presente trabalho em conta, é possível afirmar que a Inteligência Emocional tem um grande impacto na liderança.

The interest in the subject of Emotional Intelligence has increasingly increased over the past few years, forcing an extension of its scope to many social and organizational sectors, including the command functions of police forces. However, the literature on the use of Emotional Intelligence in leadership roles, especially in the military context, is still very scarce. That said, this work has the general objective of analyzing the impact of Emotional Intelligence on Leadership. To this end, a Case Study was carried out at the Territorial Command of the National Republican Guard of Santarém, where questionnaire inquiries were implemented, listening to 53 Officers and Sergeants Commanders of Detachment. Through the results obtained it is possible to verify that Emotional Intelligence influences the performance of Officers and Sergeants Commanders of Detachment as leaders. Bearing this in mind and the general objective of the present work in account, it is possible to state that Emotional Intelligence has a great impact on leadership.
