O presente projeto faz a caraterização de uma sociedade que busca melhorar os desafios encontrados no século XXI que são: a crise ambiental, no que concerne aos resíduos sólidos (penso higiénico), a pobreza financeira, a pobreza menstrual e o empreendedorismo feminino. Assim sendo, a elaboração deste projeto contribui para o desenvolvimento sustentável de São Tomé e Príncipe através da redução do consumo de produtos com impacto ambiental negativo, do desenvolvimento económico de uma região e da melhoria das condições de vida das mulheres dessa região. Por conseguinte, vai-se trabalhar o aspeto social, ambiental e económico de mulheres de uma zona agrícola em São Tomé e Príncipe e também despertar nelas o cunho empreendedor. Este vem dar resposta, não só a nível social como também económico, e não deixando para trás as complexidades da sociedade humana e o desenvolvimento da biosfera. A sustentabilidade no mundo globalizado estará sujeita a continência dos seres humanos a serem prudentes no uso da natureza sem mesmo causar danos. Sendo assim, a produção de pensos higiénicos reutilizáveis pelas próprias mulheres da Roça Saudade e Nova Moca ajudará a minimizar esse mesmo impacto negativo na natureza.

This project characterizes a society that seeks to improve some of the challenges we face in the 21st century, such as, the environmental crisis with regards to solid waste (sanitary pads), the financial poverty, the menstrual poverty and the female entrepreneurship. Therefore, the development of this project aims to contribute to the sustainable development of São Tomé and Príncipe by reducing the consumption of products with a negative environmental impact, the economic development of a region and the improvement of the living conditions of women in that region. For the effect, we will work on the social, environmental, and economic aspects of women lives in an agricultural area in São Tomé and Príncipe and also awaken their entrepreneurial spirit. This is the answer, not only on a social but also on an economic level, without leaving behind the complexities of human society and the development of the biosphere, which is also a big part of today’s concerns. Sustainability in the globalized world will be ensured by the continence of human beings and by being prudent in the use of nature by causing as less damage as possible. Thereby, the production of reusable sanitary pads by the women of Roça Saudade and Nova Moca will help minimize this same negative impact on nature and build a new mindset on women and girls of the region.
